Help me pick out a red string

I'm one of the top stringer in my city and i'm in desperate need for a string with a red color because when people ask for different color string 60% will say red and I don't have a red strings... All I need is an economical string also I'm narrowed down to Topspin Cyber Red(<--has anyone tried or seen this before?) or Gamma Monoblast or Genesis Hexonic... The price of them is near each other so I was just wondering which one works the best Thanks :)

Monoblast is cheap, but I'm not sure you'd be doing your customers any favors. Pretty harsh stuff.
If they're so unsophisticated that color is their only criterion, give them Wilson Red Alert, or even Lightning XX. They'd be happier.
Cyber Red is good, so is ProLineII or RedCode, or SpinX.

- Red Alert for the cheap/customer don't care stringjobs
- PL2 or Big Ace/SPPP Poly Deluxe for the poly jobs
- X-1 in Red for the multi jobs

Et voila

Cheers,

If you really do string for a living, I'd go for something like Pros Pro Red Devil or Vendetta or whatever red generic poly your wholesaler has. Unless you already have high volume its impossible to make any money without having a big mark up on the strings.

Pros Pro Red Devil

I second this. PP Red Devil is basically a Redcode clone at much lower cost. Contact BigT for details.

Solinco Outlast is a red poly, goes for $8 a set. Currently using it now and provides great feel and power for a poly.

where can i get the Pros Pro Red Devil?? And is Red Alert better than the Topspin Cyber Red?? Is Cyber Red a big difference than Cyber Blue/ Cyber Flash? Has tried Genesis Hexonic by any chance?

Red Alert is a syn gut instead of a poly. It's red but that's about where the resemblance ends. I would say it's on the stiffer end for a syn gut however. Meant to be extra durable. As to whether it's better, it depends on what type of string you want poly vs syn gut.

Cyber Red is synificantly different to Cyber Blue and Cyber Flash (both of which are also very different from each other). Overall I would say Cyber Flash and Cyber Blue feel like better quality polys to me with Blue being the soft and powerful poly and Flash being the stiffer control poly.

Hope it helps

Seconded about the Red Alert. Received VERY positive reviews when Wilson was doing the blind test as RED17. There was a guy paying people $20 for their unused sets before Wilson released the string. It plays well, is red, and that should be all that your customers care about.

BigT=good guy. You can trust him.

I personally love MSV Focus Hex which comes in red. It gets tons of spin, is a soft poly, holds its tension well, and pockets the ball well. Also Pro's pro Red Devil is just like Technifibre Red Code, which is one of the most popular red strings.

Polys: TF RedCode, Solinco Outlast, Kirshbaum Pro Line, Topspin Cyber Red, Pro Supex Big Ace

Synthetics: Wilson Red Alert, Gamma Synthetic 16, Prince Lightning 16, Prince Syn Gut w/Duraflex 16

Multis: Alpha Prodigy 16

I tried the Red Alert and was very pleased with the way it hit. I'd say it was crisp for a synthetic. Not harsh, but not mushy either. The Solinco Outlast is nice too. I keep it in 18g, so that might not be what you're looking for, but it comes in various gauges. Alpha Prodigy plays a lot like Head Fibergel Power to me. I like it a lot.

Steve, kind of random... but I was looking for a box to ship a racket in today, and found the one that you sent me the Dynamic Energy in :)

Some more options that weren't mentioned yet are MSV hepta twist and focus smooth both come in red. Also Wilson Enduro Pro comes in red 16lg.

Personally I would suggest Genesis SpinX. It cost a little more but has a very nice texture to it. But if you are stringing for customers that only care that the color is red and not about the string type then go for red alert.

Is there any other color string that plays like Tecnifibre Red Code? unfortunately does not come in natural, or black.
I really love it, but not the color......

Prince Lightning is a solid all around string that's pretty cheap and comes in red. and if you're looking for poly give technifibre red code or babolat revenge a shot (revenge is a bit pricey though)

Thanks Guys for all of the replies I finally decided to buy a Pro's Pro Red Devil and I just got it and we'll see what happened next :)

Who is your audience mostly? Top players or amatuers?

If it's mostly amatuers then you should get it in some sort of multi, not a poly.

X1 Biphase works great for a lot of people, however I am not sure if it's especially "cheap".
