Help! Messed up sanding down LM Radical grip size

Messed up big time!:) Yesterday, felt brave and tried to sand down 3 of the head racquets grips/pallets from size from 4 1/2 to 4 3/8. Initially, I thought I did a reasonable job. But after putting the grip and overgrip back, all feel really weird :( surface is uneven and rounded. In short, don't like it.

Thinking of replacing pallets now. I have alreadfy removed pallet from radical. But, can't find a place where I can buy pallets. Searched quite a bit. Can you suggest me where can I find them?

I read, quite a few fellow TT members, replace the head pallets on their racquets with Wilson shaped pallets. What do you do with the removed ones? If you are holding on to the removed ones and willing to let them go, could you please let me know? Email me at vhugar AT yahoo DOT com.

And finally, for anybody planning on sanding down pallets, please don't !

Keep an eye out in the "for sale" section. That is where I picked up a couple pallet sets. Only problem is that it takes time to find them. Sounds like you need them now. I don't believe they are sold retail in the US. However, you can order from TW Europe but shipping costs make them pretty expensive.

Good luck.

Try the bay. I tried searching everywhere and thats the only place I found anything. Unfortunately it was size 4 5/8, but just keep your eye out until your size comes out.
Good luck man:p

Thanks guys. Icalled ****. They won't sell the grip pallets. But they do replace them.

I'll wait and see if I can buy set of pallets from forum or fleabay. Else I will turn it over to ****.

try TWEurope.. they have it..

if all else fails reach me via profile!

Dr325i, I sent you an email.

Gorecki, I am not sure how to reach you from your profile. It says no contact information. I am relatively new to the forum. Could you please let me know how I can contact you?

Thanks all for your help.

try tw europe they might even have the wilson shaped pallets.

mawashi

Can you link it? Because all i saw were HEAD and Volkl pallets. You think HEAD pallets would fit on wilson racquets if you were to completely shave off the foam?

I believe that mawashi was referring to the Head YouTek Speed pallets (they have a code name but I don't remember it - I know it ends in "s") which are said to have a slightly squarer shape than the normal Head pallets.

As for any Head pallets fitting on a Wilson, I can't say for sure but I think it's unlikely.

Last time I heard, pThrills was making the normal Head pallets, Wilson/Head (TK82S) pallets, and Wilson pallets that fit on Head rackets.

Oh i know wilson uses mold over pallet systems. But i was just curious if anyone has ever tried completely removing the mold off a wilson racquet and attempt to place a pallet. Sounds tempting for me to try..

It sounds like removing the wilson molded pallet is pretty hard. Racquets like the K90 have weight hidden inside the mold so I am not sure how you are going to compensate fro that if you find that the racquet you are doing has a block of metal in it.

But I would think it is possible. I assume that the inner graphite shaft is the same diameter as head and as well as every other brand. I don't think they can vary too much

One other option might be to shave your grip to 1/4, and do it right this time. Then add a heat shrink sleeve to increase to 3/8.

Dr325i helped me out

Thanks a lot for your help guys !

Hi

Hi Ricardo, yes, the problem is solved, thanks to comradeship and helping nature of members on this forum!

Actually, there was no problem to begin with :) I kinda created it for myself!

How do you like your AG100s? Hope you are enjoying them!

Best.

Viru, I'm actually in love with my AG100s:D

I'm just waiting for some leather grips to be delivered and they'll be 100% ready. Actually i'm using onw TW 1.3mm and Head LGs, but I'll start using Babolat Leather grips.

Also, I bought some 4D100s as well, and at least for now the plan is to keep them all:D

And your Cooper Ace? If it your main stick now? I can see that you really like mid racquets eh?;)
