Help! Need durable non poly string!

I am struggling to find durability in any of the "durable" multi strings. I have tried Tecnifibre Triax 16, Head Velocity MLT 16, Head FXP 16 and they have popped after 1.5 hours, 1 hour and 45 minutes. Not at all durable.
Are there any other more durable multis that I should try?

Maybe look into some of the coated synthetic guts? Gamma w/ weather guard or prince with duraflex.

I’m currently getting 8 hours out of that gamma which is surprising me. I figured I’d break it at 4.

I have a few guys I string for that are string breakers, but do not like the feel of poly. I've been using Gamma Marathon for them and all 3 seem to like it just fine.

Would you care to elaborate where they break? If it's relatively in the center of the string bed, you must be putting an incredible amount of force and spin to the ball and should be playing poly to tame it. If it's close to the frame, it's a mis-hit, in which case another string won't do as it's a technical flaw.

If it takes 1.5h to break 3 different types of 16g multi's, I'd look into 2 things:
1. Your stringer and also the tension you're stringing at. If your stringer is nicking the strings because of bad clamps or poor technique, then there's your issue and you should change your stringer. Regarding tension - try a lower one (low 50's in lbs/ low 20's in kgs), it will increase lifetime a little more.
2. If the above are in order, you should look at a different type of string- poly strings or at the very least a hybrid setup with poly mains and a 15/16g syn gut or multi in the crosses.

How the hell do you pop a string with 45 minutes of hitting lol. You must be redlining the entire time, huge topspin and racquet head speed? That's pretty damn quick even for a professional.

Try Triax maybe? It's like 3 thin polys wrapped together and some magic coating or sum'n.

More trad choice is Head FXP, which is similar but less new, and it doesn't have an ATP sticker on the pack.

If the string breaks that soon, your stringer may be too rough the string. Before the next restring, ask him to check the grommets for sharp spots, avoid crushing the string with the starting clamp and regular clamps, minimize string burn when pulling.

Another thing to try is string savers.

If you feel the need to use multi you might think about a racket change. Some frames are such string breakers that only poly works with them.

Looking at frames like Phantom or Gravity line would be worthwhile or possibly an 18x20 frame.

Can you provide any feedback on how the Gamma Marathon plays vs Gamma Synthetic Gut w/ weather guard?

What racket are you using? If you are breaking multi within 45 minutes, try going to a thicker gauge of the same string which may give you an extra session but doesn’t resolve the underlying issue of busting frequently.
There are a few 15L gauge strings that I find are durable. Prince Premier Control , Prince Topspin, etc
The other option would be to move to a tighter string pattern racket.

IMO, if you can break a syngut or multi in under 2 hours then you should be using a poly string..

Any particular reason why you're avoiding polys?

OP hasn't given us any details on how he breaks his strings. This seems unbelievably fast to me too, and I am a string breaker. I think the chances are high that either his stringer does a poor job, or that he hits like a mule but no accuracy, translating in off-center shots near the grommets.

Marathon feels a little stiffer, but I couldn't swear that it wasn't because it's thicker (1.35 vs 1.30). It has a hard coating on it also, so it slides a little better, so theoretically, it should get a little more spin. Couldn't really tell that for sure. Gamma TNT2 is available in 15L also, and it has a softer, more multi-like feel.

if a stringer needs to be told how not to suck I'm not sure I'd be taking my frames there ...

(all good points, but still )
