Help Needed on knots!

When I tension the last string and clamp it, I go to tie the knot but it doesn't pull through all the way (there's a little bit of slack on the outside of the frame). After I tie the knots and release the string, I lose a but of tension from the last main. Any suggestions/directions to solve this?

Unless there is A LOT of slack, there isn't much you can do. If you do find you have a lot of slack when tying off, use a pair of pliers to pull the string and cinch it up. You can try raising the tension a couple of pounds (maximum five) to compensate for tension loss, although it isn't recommended. I've always raised the tension an additional five pounds to compensate for tension loss... since the people I string for think I do a bad job when the string is loose. You can also try using a parnell knot over a double half hitch to tie off.

There is a little slack but when I release the clamp the slack tightens up a bit. But the string is still loose. Could you give me a brief description of a Parnell knot/ how to tie one?

Standupnfall's link should help you greatly. The last main will naturally be looser than all the other mains due to tension loss from tie offs. Don't worry, it won't affect your play unless you hit there on a constant basis. Like I said, raising the last main 5 lbs should make your strings less loose. Never had a problem doing it, and the guy who used to string my rackets before I had a machine always did it as well.

I would never go up 5 lbs, maybe 2-3, but not 5. That's pushing the bill a little bit...

I go up by 5lbs. I used to use 3 lbs but decided to go a bit more especially as some other (top) stringers go up about 8lbs. The Prince 6000 knot tension function adds 10%, although Lizel Huber 'want' the outer most mains to be 10lbs higher.
