HELP: what strings for a 7 year old with a PD 25?

Hello, I need a suggestion from all you tech experts and gear geeks out there :)

My son is 7 and a half but quite advanced, already using a western grip and hitting with decent pace and surprising amounts of spin off both sides. He can easily rally on a full court with green or yellow balls, although he doesn't get to officially compete on the full court until 2025. He's about 4'3 and 60 lbs. Plays mostly on clay.

The racket is a Babolat Pure Drive 25 and badly in need of a restring. So the question is: what strings and tension should we opt for? Obviously no poly - but what kind of multi (or perhaps synth gut?) would you recommend? And what tension? (I would assume no more than 20 kg/44 lbs)

Thanks to anyone who can offer their advice.

Prince Syn Gut 16G at 45lbs would be a good starting point. Gosen OG Sheep Micro 16G is another good syn gut. I've used both of these and they are decent strings. If you want a multi, Technifibre Multifeel 16G is a very good low cost multi and I have it in my rackets in a hybrid setup with a poly at the moment. Honestly, I think the synthetic gut is fine. Jim Courier, Vince Spadea and a few others used syn gut on the pro tour.

Head velocity or tecnifibre multifeel, I like those.

Kevlar mains @ 70lbs, Luxilon Alu pro crosses @68 lbs.

If you are brining it to a shop they probably only carry 1 or 2 synthetic gut and I am sure whatever you pick will be fine so long as you string it on the lower end of the recommended scale range. I probably would choose 17g...doubt your kid is a big snapper at that age

Thank you all!

I found a really great offer on the head velocity... should I go for it? Do you think the multi will move around less than a syn gut? Again, he's already hitting full strokes with surprising spin and pop for his age (when he can get his feet set properly) and the current strings - presumably syn gut, now quite old and dry - are constantly getting bunched together, and he struggles to rearrange them with his little fingers...

velocity will snap back better than syn gut, at least at the beginning. If he starts breaking strings a lot, I recommend a reel of kirschbaum syn gut. exceptional value at around 30 bucks.
