Help with Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction (PTTD), posterior tibial tendonitis

I think I just self diagnosed my left sore ankle condition as posterior tibial tendon dysfunction (PTTD), or posterior tibial tendonitis. Of course, I will get this professionally confirmed with my doctor but in the meantime, has anyone dealt with this condition, and if so what information, advise, treatment, rehab, ankle support/brace used, etc... can you pass along to me? Some background info: I am a very active person, 47 yrs old, USTA verified 4.5 was 5.0 but getting older, and I play several hours of competitive tennis weekly and until now never had an ankle issue. However, I had been flat footed on my left foot ever since I can remember without any problems, (normal arch on right foot). Also, I recently installed Super Feet "Green" Insoles in my tennis shoes to aid my left flat foot but it hasn't really helped. Any comments are appreciated.

The Superfeet green are not really meant for a flat foot, while the blue and black can be worn with flat feet.

The initial treatment is rest. Ice should be helpful.

But you'll need that evaluation for specific recommendations and treatment.

I had this for the last 1-2 months. It's pretty much gone now(hopefully) but just make sure you get rest and anything that irritates the ankle/tendon you should not do. Icing and taking Aleve helped me, and so did calf stretches and toe raises. Right now I'm using sole orthotics,an ASO Brace, and I wrap my ankle, so that should help you maybe.
