Here's the thing... (Roger Federer)

Here's the thing. You said Federer is a GOAT “candidate."
Is he? Yes. No one's arguing that.
As someone who is a scientist who studies tennis, I am telling you, specifically, in science, no one calls Federer a candidate. If you want to be "specific" like you said, then you shouldn't either. They're not the same thing.
If you're saying "candidate" you're referring to the pleb grouping of journey men, which includes names from Djokovic to Nadal to Sampras.
So your reasoning for calling Federer a GOAT “candidate” is because random people "call Nadal GOAT?" Let's get Ferrer and Istomin in there, then, too.
Also, calling someone a GOAT or a BOAT? It's not one or the other, that's not how tennis works. They're both. Federer is the GOAT and a member of the All England Tennis Club. But that's not what you said. You said Federer is a candidate, which is not true unless you're okay with calling all members of the candidate family GOATs, which means you'd call Benneteau, Robredo, and Berdych GOATs, too. Which you said you don't.
It's okay to just admit you're wrong, you know?

Clearly, Dr. Moreau is speaking about putting Goats on a Benneteau Boat and performing Manchurian Candidate experiments at Wimbledon.

But I could be wrong.

I'm genuinely concerned about your mental health. You really do sound like someone who just had a stroke and is speaking gibberish, but believe he's making sense.
Call someone.

OMG , I started reading the responses before reading the complete OP and I could hardly get past the first few responses as my eyes were watering and stomach hurting. Don't remember the last time something on this forum made me LOL so hard. Too many candidates in there for FPOAT.
thank you OP :)

Damn.. there are so many mediocre scientists these days

He's seen into the void. He's a divining rod, a veritable boombox with a voice from the future - just look at his sig!

The solution to the OPs question resides either in a discussion about set theory or in unleashing upon him the unrelenting fountain of gibberish that is SoBad.

I vote for the latter. :)

If traveling on a winter's night, a goat beholds the anxiety and hardships of a forlorn boats man and coxswain, a swan song of the bygone junkball age.
