hey all
ive got $10 bucks riding on this with a friend, so wondering if you guys can help me out.

We both wanted to see what kind of racquet hewitt uses. I said he is using the RDS001 mid, which is what the TW page says. My friend says that he is using RDS001 paintjob, but in actuality is using something else. The TW site and most other people i talked to in my area say that Hewitt is actually using the RDS001, but it is pretty customized.

Do you guys know if he is using the MId RDs 001, or is really using the RDS as a PJ, but in actuality using something else?

Most top ranked pros use a paintjob because it is unreasonable for them to keep on changing racquets every time a new model comes out. They usualy have a customized frame that they are used to and they like, so they stick with that racquet for most, if not all, of their career. Hewitt is one of these guys, i dont know which racquet he is using exacly right now, but im sure others on this board would know. The reason why everybody you ask say he uses a RDS001, including TW, is because they are here to sell a racquet. Also, I am pretty positive that YONEX would not take it too well if a dealer would say that a player does not use a racquet he is advertising.

im about 95% sure he is using the PJ of Super RD tour version 90 with some lead on it. If he is really using what tenniswarehouse has been advertising it, he wouldve had to swtich racquet every freaking year. He first played with srd tour when he first came on the tour actually it was POG in his junior years and as he turned pro he got a sponsorship from yonex, after that he used Ultimum ti-50 (only had it in 95sq inch so it was obvious that it was a pj) then it was mp tour 1 that he won wimbledon with then it was rdx 500 then its rds 001. Do you really think he wouldve swtiched that many racquets in like 5 years of time period. thats like new racquet almost every year, even club level players dont even swtich racquet as often as that.

hewitt is using a paint job most defitnely. i think if memory serves, that he first used that original racquet as they say on TW in the aussie open, he then switched to back to his old on. so he is using a PJ.

It is very likely a paint job. As the other people here have said, pros just can't change racquets that often.
