Highest average pay in pro sports.

Hey I thought this was an interesting article. Now tennis or golf aint in here and the average pay for either of them is probably not that high cause the pros at the bottom are not making crap. But who would have thought that Indian cricket players have the second highest average salary in pro sports?

Yea apparently not as interesting as I thought. But come on indian cricket players? I still am amazed by that.

The top Australian cricketers earn $5-6 million per year. About 80% of cricket revenue globally comes from India....hardly surprising the Indian cricket team have stratospheric pay levels.

It's actually not Indian players looking at the article...it's IPL players, which is like saying Manchester United players are English soccer players...most of them aren't.

Well yea but regardless I never knew that cricket was so lucrative in India. Learn something new everyday I mean I assumed that it was not a bad paying gig. But to be just under the average for NBA players is not something I would have thought.

I am never surprised by what the top guys in any sport earn. The average pay is fascinating to me. For example the english cricket league isnt even on this list. Which is interesting considering the high pay for the EPL in soccer.

No one in the IPL earns that much though,it must include the cricketer's salaries from whatever other competitions they play in,and international cricket...

Those in the Futures and Challenger Circuits should get more income! I remember several years ago; a player won a Future tournament; and he just broke even for the month! He was living in his van. The prize money was $1,200! He had been on the tour for about 14 months too!
