I remember staying up till 5am to watch this. After 2 sets I don't really know why I didn't go to sleep, but god damn am I glad I didn't.

Two Americans killing it in a night match at the Arthur Ashe stadium... Can't get any more spectacular than that.

It was an incredible match. I wouldn't say best quarter final of all time at USO personally. Sampras v Agassi in 01 for me is superior despite being 4 sets.

This however is just a wonderful match that was made to be played under the lights at USO. Sensational hitting and the crowd was buzzing because both were crowd favs. Agassi really had a magical run that year, pity for him he ran into Federer in the final. I think anyone else including Hewitt, and he would have won the title.

Agassi won the 2005 QF, ergo it was a superior match. :p

Remember how the Roddick/Blake/Fish generation used to cop a lot of crap for not being as good as the previous generation

Man they were a hell of a lot better the generation that followed

Why doesn't this qualify as a baseline slugfest? Coz it's not.

Missing the good old days of fast tennis.
