Hilarious tennis stats that are alarmingly true

Having a season like 1977 (130-15 win/loss matches record, 46 consecutive won matches streak, 2 GS) Guillermo Vilas has never achieved the #1 ATP singles ranking, not even for a week.
And, according to research done on the ATP rankings from the first years they were published, the recalculations and errors adjustments only award him the #1 for six weeks during 1975 and 1976, times when he had yet not won even one Grand Slam.

Nadal was being spoken of in no way shape or form, congratulations! You made it about him.

The father of Germany's 1st female number one player also went to prison. How's that for a weird coincidence?
maybe it's not a coincidence. Maybe germans have a problem with becoming number 1 in Tennis :). Need to send them to Austria to figure this out.

The Sicilian Marco Cecchinato had won 0 Slam matches at the main draw before defeating Novak Djokovic at RG 2018.

Cecchinato is the only Sicilian player to ever beat Novak Djokovic.

Cecchinato is also the only Sicilian player to make @Checkmate famous worldwide.

Cecchinato is Sicilian.

Vincent Spadea owns the longest losing streak in ATP Tour history with 21 straight defeats. Somehow the Detroit Pistons have him beat with 27 straight defeats.

From 2022-2023, Djokovic has the reached the most slam finals, 5. The guy in second place? Casper Ruud, with 3. More than Alcaraz, Nadal, and Medvedev (all on 2).

If it holds: Nick Kyrgios will be the first slam finalist in almost 20 years who will have never reached the ATP’s Top 10. The last was Martin Verkerk at 2003 FO. Will Nick actually reach the top 10 ever?

Hardcourt Slam:
Rafa couldn't reach the semifinals after holding the #2 ranking for 129 consecutive weeks, then Fed-Nole were consistently placed on the same side for the next 8 consecutive draws.
