Hip/lower body rotation in the 2HBH

I have been hitting for a while with the 1HBH, but have been dabbling back and forth on the 2 hander.. one of the issues i have is my lower body is very used to staying in a mostly closed stance due to my 1HBH habits, hence when i try to hit a 2 Hander, it looks very wrong as its all upper body rotation and my lower body ends up staying planted

Should i have the feeling of bringing my left foot (im right handed) around, thus promoting the rotation, or should the rotation be more about turning the hips.. or should i be looking at this from a different perspective?

If you watch Murray hit a backhand, and his is pretty darn good, he brings his left foot around due to rotation. I've noticed I do it too most of the time. Twisting the hips seems like something more suited to baseball and golf swing, I don't know how effective it would be for a backhand. Maybe I do it, I haven't noticed. For a two hander try and lean into it a little more than you would a 1 hander, using your shoulders to generate most the power, and focus on using your left hand to push through the ball (for righty). Does that make sense? Thats a reason Nadal's is so lethal sometimes and he can get so much power from nothing, he really uses is right hand to push through, almost like a second forehand. But not really. But sort of :)

thanks, yeah, i like murrays backhand..

so, you more so rotate around your right leg, sort of allowing your body to come around based on what the upper body is doing, and eventually your whole body faces the net as a result?

sort of not consciously rotating the hips as the rotation is a by product of allowing the body as a whole to come around?

Ya I'm pretty sure you've got it right, if I'm understanding correctly. The rotation of the swing/shoulders should naturally pull your left foot around, as well as rotating the hips. Check out some youtube videos of just normal points, as well as pro's practicing in slow motion. There's plenty of them, I can post a link if you can't find them.

^ yeah will check out some vids, i know there are plenty out there, but was wanting advice from people who use the 2 hander and from the coaches on here as well
