Hitting on the same side for FH and BH?

Anyone hit on the same side of the racquet for FH and BH? I use a SW FH grip and I was just messing around tonight with trying to hit my BH on the same side of the racquet since it doesn't require much of a grip change at all. It felt weird because I'm so used to changing grips, but it seems like it could work. Even if you insisted on using an Eastern backhand grip you only have to slide over a tiny bit if you hit on the same side.

i hit both sides of the frame...even if i tried to hit on one side only...my OCD would cause me to keep spinning my racket. :p

I do use the same side of the racquet face as well; I have a western forehand, which is virtually the same as the eastern backhand grip that I use for the bottom hand on the two-handed backhand. However, this isn't to say I hit only with one side; it's not like I pick up my racquet the same way everytime... I also spin it.

after every shot i spin my racquet around like a few times just so i can get a better grip unless the point is going fast

I don't think you should do that, it takes a bit longer like that and isn't as accurate when balls come fast at you

This would happened for those who uses western grip on FH and eastern grip for 1HBH. All you have to do is turn your wrist around, without changing the grip.

Some people with western grips do this. Mauresmo does it although not on every single backhand she hits. I use a sw fh and eastern bh and use the opposite sides.
