I had demoed the Aeropro Drive cortex a couple of times, and not quite liked it....... It felt too light, too stiff, not enough control for me, in summary, it felt like a toy.

Today, I got an original Aeropro Drive, without cortex, from a friend who doesnt play, the racquet is almost new, Id say 8.5-10; anyways, I told him I would help him sell it. I tried it today and, surprise. I liked it. It feels more solid than the new version, even though they are supposed to have the same weight, right? (10.6 oz unstrung). Is it a whole different racquet? Or have I just forgotten how the cortex one really is?

Could anyone tell me the specs of the old Aeropro Drive?

I've heard about a lot of people who owned old PD and APD without Cortex and went for the new ones with Cortex, and didn't like them. I'm not a babolat Cortex racquets user anyways.

I've had both and the only difference is the cortex. The differences that people feel is because of the poor babolat quality. I've had three babolat apd cortex and one was much more head heavy and had a lot more sw than the other and there was a weight difference of seven grams also. Same with two wilson nsix-one i owned. Same rackets but specs were different like day and night.
