Ho can Nadal be so sure his knee will be ready for Davis Cup?

I read that Rafa is penciled in to play Davis Cup two weeks after the Open. With how shaky the knee problem seems to be, as they have portrayed to the media, how can they be so sure it will be ready to battle it out for potentially ten sets on clay in Davis Cup?
If Rafa plays and dominates in the tie, it will be somewhat curious because some people think he might even be finished. Wonder what Yannick Noah will say. Definitely Rafa is going to badly missed at the US Open, a major is just not quite a major without Rafa in the draw, wreacking havoc.

Uncle Toni said RNadal is strengthening his quads, which are weak due to so many weeks of inactivity. That is why he didn't play the US Open. His actual knee is fine. He had Hoffa syndrome, which relates to the fat behind his knee being pinched. It is far from serious, and doesn't require treatment, just rest.

But RNadal has had his many weeks of rest and has been training for a couple of weeks now. So once RNadal has got a couple more weeks of practice in, he'll be ready to go.

And don't worry about Noah. You know what they say - "Never trust a frenchman".

To be honest the story goes back and forth.

Toni says rafa is training normally, and prepping for davis cup

Then the net day its hOffa's syndrome and raf can't practicce without pain and has to rest for 15 days.

Then rafa''s doctors says its annoying iinjury, but not serious.

Who knows? I did find it funny that a picture was released on fb of rafa being looked at by a doctor....with davis cup posters on the wall in the background.

Is that a hint?

It's a hint he gets a checkup every week, as anyone would who just had Hoffa syndrome.

Given that he hasn't had tendinitis problems recently, this could be his best shot ever at the World Tour Finals.

You gotta love all the tinfoil hat wearing keyboard warriors around here.

The reason is simple, ticket sales.

My guess is, even Nadal and his own team don't positively know when he'll come back (even if it will be this year at all) but will still claim he'll playing at DC to boost ticket sales.

Oh ? I thought attendance was actually higher at some events due to RNadal's absence. Cincy, I heard. LMAO !!!

Says everything doesn't it. His ego is the one that's severely injured, not his knees. He will be back sweeping the clay court season in 2013, not losing a set.

I guess he was heavily considering playing Salem to prep for USO before bagging the whole deal. So if he was that close, 4 weeks from now you've got to assume he'll be feeling much better. Nothing is set in stone though

Ralph always pulls out strategically, always.Anyway, Claydal can only delay upcoming beatdowns for so long.

Here's a nice trivia for ya - Ralph's avoided the transformed Muzzette the entire season. I see a beatdown coming up for Claydal at AO 2013.

He shouldn't play? Why not give another Spaniared a chance, they have strength in depth. Who would 4 be without him-

Ferrer
Almagro
Lopez
Verdasco?

Lance Armstrong is like the Roger Federer of biking.

You mean, a guy who had more stamina than anybody else on tour, who worked with Spanish doctors, and who, despite that, was unable to win anything all year long, except for a two-month stretch culminating in the biggest French event, an event which he won a record seven times? Sure does sound suspiciously like Roger Federer, doesn't it?

The funniest elements of the ************* really have raised the science of self-pwnage to an art...

He's probably scared of Federer. I can't imagine any other reason for skipping Olympics, Toronto, Cincy and USOpen.
