Borg lost the desire to play and the sacrifice that comes with it.There was also a lot less worldwide competition, the game wasn't played at nearly the same speed, and everyone has all the same "technology" during their respective eras so the "technology" point is moot. The better racquets and strings makes the game harder at the higher levels, not easier. The French is still the hardest major to win, so Nadal's fourteen is far more impressive than Borg's six.
Even if Borg had Played, doubt he would have dominated his next gen I.e Wilander and Lendl which was required.
I think he was quite happy with 6 FO that time
