Holger Rune: “I can beat his Roland Garros record”

There was also a lot less worldwide competition, the game wasn't played at nearly the same speed, and everyone has all the same "technology" during their respective eras so the "technology" point is moot. The better racquets and strings makes the game harder at the higher levels, not easier. The French is still the hardest major to win, so Nadal's fourteen is far more impressive than Borg's six.
Borg lost the desire to play and the sacrifice that comes with it.

Even if Borg had Played, doubt he would have dominated his next gen I.e Wilander and Lendl which was required.
I think he was quite happy with 6 FO that time

The FO wasn't worth anything before Borg started making a name for himself there! Most top players skipped the event; too grueling w/ such a slow court! Vilas would have won more than 1, but Borg was his MASTER! The Americans that did go there were embarrassed by him again and again; the Bagel Twins (Eddie Dibbs & Harold Solomon), & Vitas Gerulaitis! They were all his pigeons! :whistle::-D

Borg is still elite and above most w/ inferior equipment of the 70's! Nadal will never be as impressive to me as he had all kinds of technology behind him in those 14 titles! Borg literally played with a wooden stick and accomplished so much including the "Channel Slam" 3 times w/ less time to prepare! :giggle: :sneaky::D:laughing:
Borg's opponents also played with a wooden stick.
The gap between the FO final and the start of Wimbledon was lenghtened to three weeks from two weeks in 2015. Rafa accomplished his 2 Channel Slams before that.

Wrong! While Borg continued w/ the stick, others went to composites and metals! The rest makes no sense! Borg still had less time to prepare for grass back in the day! :D

Was a week shorter back in the days, when Borg played at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, than in 2008 & 2010 (when Rafa accomplished his 2 Channel Slams)?
