Seems he’s now settled on Pure Aero VS. Babolat trying everything to keep him. Went from Gravity to custom Strike 100 with 18x20 pattern and now settled with the Aero VS. Looks like this could be the racquet of the coming decade with Rune and Alcaraz endorsing.
shame for both youngsters. you can - and must - only hit like a maniac with it IME, it's not good for anything else. they are both strong physically, so it might work for them to a point, but that will make them underachieve and not develop their talents entirely. we'll see what the future brings..

Maybe he just get a version of the Aero Storm down the road with a paintjob or even a completly different racquet than retail. Is funny this kind of comments given Alcaraz is only 18 and getting good results with it but... Yeaaah he might not be able to make it

Watched him hit at USO today. Was using the VS. I didn't recognize him at first cause he had a hat and I didn't know he left the pure drive (not following tennis closely this year)

No this model was released 2020, assuming the racket is the same as implied by the cosmetic. Hard to tell if he's added weight anywhere.

Believe he briefly experimented with it the other year and had terrible match results right before the AO. He then switched back to his usual, the Pure Aero VS paint job of the old AeroStorm mold.

Aerostorm mold is a box beam hoop from Pure Control married to an Aero throat. The true new Aero VS is just a smaller 98" version of the Aero beam in both hoop and throat.

The blacked out stick he was using a few months back, no one brought up the possibility of a new, upcoming Babolat frame down the road. He was still using the dampener and the stencil on it. So there’s a chance he was messing around with unreleased Babolat prototypes and settled with the Aero VS.

Difficult to judge. But it looks like a Head Gravity. Seeing the throat, it reminds me of Gravity.

Yes he has tested the 2024 version, and a custom 100 18x20 in 2021 when he was testing racquets.
