Home court

I would like to apologize to the French constituents for writing off their men in this year's championships. Benneteau and Monfils have made it to the Round of 16 and Mathieau gave Nadal more of a challenge than Rafa wanted. Benneteau has a good chance versus Martin, but I wonder when Monfils luck will run out. The French have developed a lot of good talent through their junior programs with Monfils, Chardy, Gasquet, and Tsonga being the youngest of that bunch. The French have galvanized a national model that the US has yet to imitate. Here in the US, it's every person for themselves. Once a player is on the radar screen, then the regional organization will take notice. We talk about "growing the game", but the USTA still is neglecting the public parks, even though they say they are reaching out to everyone.
