The Westside Tennis Club will refill its champions cup in November. The Houston club, which hosted the ATP Tour's Tennis Masters Cup the past two years, will host the inaugural Champions Cup, an eight-man senior event, November 10-13th. All four days of action will be televised by The Tennis Channel.

Five former Grand Slam champions — John McEnroe, Boris Becker, Jim Courier, Goran Ivanisevic, Mats Wilander — as well as Mikael Pernfors, Aaron Krickstein and Todd Martin, who will make his senior debut, are scheduled to compete in the round-robin event. The event is produced by InsideOut Sports & Entertainment, the company Courier co-founded, in conjunction with Westside owners Jim McIngvale and his wife Linda McIngvale.

"I am excited to announce that InsideOut Sports & Entertainment and Jim and Linda McIngvale will be bringing the first annual Champions Cup to Houston's Westside Tennis Center," Courier said. "Houston has proven to be one of the America's finest tennis markets and we are excited to get all of these great champions together for the first time in Texas."

The Champions Cup is presented by Stanford Financial Group, which sponsor's the Delta Tour Of Champions, the ATP's Champions Tour.

The Tennis Channel will televise live prime-time evening matches on the first three days of the event and a live Sunday afternoon final.

"These are some of the sport's biggest names," Tennis Channel president and founder Steve Bellamy said. "We are honored to be pointing our cameras at Champions' Cup Houston and will be making it a huge priority at The Tennis Channel."

Houston just isn't a tennis town (Texas in general). I was at the much hyped Agassi/Courier doubles match, and half the seats were empty. Westside even had a buy one/get one ticket promotion just to get people into the finals of the Clay Court Championship.

Kudos to the McIngvales for promoting tennis; they just live in the wrong town.

I'm a member of the Westisde Tennis Club and looking forward to the Champions Cup. However, all projections point to a cat 4 or 5 Hurricane Rita pummeling Houston with 140 mph winds. I hope the WSTC is still standing when it's all said and done.

where do I get tickets for this event?? Do I have to call westside ?
