The way Rog's dropping points, it seems highly unlikely that he'll be inside top100 by Wimbledon to make it to main draw

He'll need a wildcard to enter and organizers, knowing he's a ticking time bomb, may want to cash on the opportunity early and not take any risk. They may set up fedal #5 at Wimbledon in 1st or 2nd round.

Gimme your thoughts? Do you want it?
Yes? Then why?
No? Then why?

It would be a classic match up and a great way for Fed to go out respectfully to a worthy opponent and career rival. He knows he can't win it so why risk further injury and embarrassment of losing in first or second round to some dude we've never heard of.

I think it would be advantage Fed versus fellow GOATS in the early rounds. A relaxed Federer is a dangerous Federer.

No, better at the Open.
6-1, 6-3, 6-0 for Nadal.

I’d say Roger will basically choose his spot in the draw and if his form isn’t up to it, I’d hope he’d choose Ralph to be his baker-executioner.

If fed's in a good form, (won halle or made F it something something) then it indeed can be a nailbiter.

3rd round likely.. They could set Fed up with 2 qualifier level opponents in the first 2 rounds.
There's no guarantee fed would make past them..
He was on the cusp of losing to Marianno of all people last year, and lost to a glorified qualifier at the end anyways. (Albeit injured and rusty)

Dangerous only if he has the movement to back up his groundies and serve. From what I saw last year, his upper body, hand skills etc are still there, but the legs aren't.

If Fed's level is so bad he can't get past a qualifier, then the appeal of a Fedal match will get even lower

Isn’t Fed like world #30 right now anyways lol?

Im sure they’ll give him a very lush quarter and a chance for a big 4th round/QF.

Where do you think the maestro is at physically at the moment?

In 2021 when Fed came back he was still physically restricted and yet he still managed to go all the way to the Wimbledon QTRs after an exhausting fourth round run at RG.

Do you think if he is in better shape this time around, and he only plays one major + leadup events this year he could manage his energy levels and make an even bigger run than QTRs?

He looked terrible last year and is one year older with another surgery under his belt. For the first time in his career he looked really slow out there. He’s not going to show up at 40 with no match play and look good out there.

That would have been valid pre 2020.I mean, Fed was bagelled the last time he played at Wimbledon and that just shows that an eventual match against Nadal won't be pretty at all.

It should be possible but ATP is protecting Fed. There’s no way he should still be ranked inside the top 50

They won't meet enough times for Nadal to reverse their grasscourt H2H, so not much in it for Nadal, but I'd still want to see it. Their 2019 match was very interesting.

dont think either one can last until further round
Nadal made the SF of the last 2 Wimbledon he played, and only lost 10-8 to Djokovic in 2018.
So there is a very good chance of Nadal winning Wimbledon, especially now that his 2nd Serve is 10mph faster than past years.
And nobody can say "He hasn't won it since 2010 so no chance of him winning it in 2022", because clearly his longevity allows him to do anything he wants.

A Federer v Djokovic first round match is just as possible no?

If he met Djokovic, it would be a brutal execution.

And if he met Nadal, it wouldnt count as a win for Nadal, if he won ( just like the AO didnt count ) ... LOL

Yeah meeting at the US Open would be the ultimate match for Naderer, the match we've been waiting for for 20 years.
