How can Novak fix his mess? Is it Pepe, or is it Marko?

I think the real problem might be Marko, who brought Pepe into Novak's inner circle in the first place.

It is difficult to imagine Boris Becker, Marian Vajda, Gebhard Phil Gritsch and Miljan Amanovic together losing to Pepe Imaz himself, unless the Djokovic family got involved. Novak Djokovic is a multi-million dollar business and it is no surprise that his family want a bigger role in it. But clearly the ship is sinking as of now.

It is truly neither. Djokovic is just hiding under Pepe - similar to when Murray hired Mauresmo after Lendl left. Truth was, he was too happy to have finally won Wimbledon (well understood) and also took the time to tend his injuries that had been bothering him for years, so he needed a female touch from a nurturing aspect of things. Novak too is content at the moment and has lost the drive to win after RG last year. It's only his to turn things around and it won't matter who he hires as a coach if he's not willing to give 100%. It's an unconscious thing with him which I feel he himself is unaware, but it least he should feel that it's not clicking with him anymore, so needs to dig deep, really to find the answers.

No one can save him but himself. Its his hunger that is gone. Something Agassi cant do anything about either.
Yeah, Agassi sort of wasted his career until 1999 so the fire was still there in his late 20s and early to mid 30s. The only thing that Djokovic can be going for right now is Fed's record which I'm pretty sure he knows he isn't gonna break.

My gut feeling is that agassi or no one can help him. He needs a Rachel Robinson or steffi graf type wife. He has a wife that has a jeweled phone looks diamond crusted. As he said today he has responsibilities.

What a disgusting post even by your usual low standards.

When he said he has responsibilities he likely meant to his sponsors.
He was winning everything in sight for five years and the last time I checked, Jelena was in his life at that time and his kid is two years old so clearly they aren't to blame. He's older and wants more balance between his family and tennis after winning so much. It's completely normal.

Its the type of thing Federer, Nadal and other top players have gone thru , winning all the time is ended. Its now regroup and try and regain the game that is lost.

Cheers
3Fees :)

Stop blaming Pepe.

It's absurd. Before Agassi came on board Nole was on the rise under Pepe. Semis in Madrid, Final in Rome. Agassi comes aboard nad tries to change his game overnight and he loses to a guy like Thiem he should have beaten.

Could be wrong but she has changed. I used to be a big fan of her. So whatever you want to go off on and argue have at it. Its your thing the whole arguing thing.

I agree. This call of some Novak fans for Novak to distance himself from family and kids is one of the MOST PATHETIC things I have seen in this forum.

everybody who can help Novak driven away from him, even AA.

maybe telekinesis does work after all.

Wonder if can also teleport?

His hunger being gone is the main culprit. I knew after winning RG he would go into a slump but I had no idea it would be a slump like this. He also no longer eats meat which makes him physically weaker if he's not getting the right protein from other foods. Mentally, he's all over the place. He dominated in such a way and won everything that it's taken some of his desire of the game that he had.

Everyone had a slump at Novak's current age, some of them even earlier than that. Why is a special reason behind Novak's slump necessary? With his age and mileage it's pretty impressive he kept going strong until mid 2016.

this is like the third post or so discussing his wife. it's so bizarre. idk how much of novak's issues are related to personal and how many are simply the result of a natural decline but its so weird how obsessed certain novak fans in regards to his personal life.

maybe because i'm not really a fan persay, but i do wonder if fans are reading way too much into it, and its just novak post 30 or w/e.

LMFAO

♫♫I'm coached by this new guru i'm still getting used to
my friends all approve, say he's gonna be good for you
they tell me, "Amor y Paz"

He says the Buddha is all that he reads
and prefers that I not use profanity
your mouth was, so dirty

Life of the yoga party
and he swears that he's artsy
but you could distinguish
PETE from Edberg

Our love was, comfortable and
so broken in
he's perfect, so zen
or so they say, say

he thinks I can't see the smile that he's fakin'
throwing his locks for pictures that aren't being taken
I loved you
grey sweat pants, full beer gut, so perfect

Our love was, comfortable and
so broken in
he's perfect, so zen
I'm not impressed, I want you back.♫♫

"The Way We Were"

Mem'ries,
Light the corners of my mind
Misty water-colored memories
Of the way we were
Scattered pictures,
Of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another
For the way we were
Can it be that it was all so simple then?
Or has time re-written every line?
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me, would we? Could we?
Mem'ries, may be beautiful and yet
What's too painful to remember
We simply choose to forget
So it's the laughter
We will remember
Whenever we remember...
The way we were...
The way we were...

Both Federer and Nadal had slumps once they ended their primes, now it's Djokovic's turn. Actually, we basically had to wait until Djokovic was almost 30 to start underperforming.

But do you really think Djokovic is going to play til he's 36 or 37 like Fed? I don't know if he loves the game as much as Fed does these days. It almost seems as if he's sort of content with his 100+ million in prize money and 12 slams.

Thing is, and I'm no Djokovic fan, this is such a sudden and mystifying decline, that there is likely something going on. Natural decline would have him losing tough matches to the guys he was winning tough matches off of. But he's not, he's losing to guys he has no business losing to, and having to revert to his gamesmanship tactics to try to win matches he is losing. He's not showing decline, he's falling off a cliff. That's the kind of thing that happens when there are outside factors.

lol i remember the many people fed lost to, i mean of all people freaking robredo. i mean idk, is losing to thiem and kygrios, who were meant to be promising players, really indicative of novak completely losing it mentally?

He won 12 Slams and his style does not work well for guys over 30

He won't win another slam
He could reach a few more finals

He is still a big threat to win another Aussie

Agassi biggest problem was Pete Sampras
If not for Pete he would have won 4-6 more slams

It's because some of Novak's fans have to look for a scapegoat(Jelena, Pepe, the brother) rather than accept the normal path of a player 29+. A lot of them are in denial.

Not really a bad thing. He has the last laugh.

Got to admit that I also don't think he's having mental support from his other half. When things are bad at home everything is crumbling. Perhaps this is the reason he is looking at Pepe for support.

The whole tennis disaster started last year when there were also rumors of him having a spat with his wife. Also, about a month ago, her ugly and completely uncalled for reaction over live facebook when she thought that the feed was over shows that he does not have mental balance at home. And tennis is all about balance...

Nobody sais anything of him putting distance from family, but there are signs that not everything is good there...

lol i saw the reaction on facebook like and still think so many people read way too much into it, and also okay w/e so if everything isn't exactly hunky dory, let's blame jelena. this post is so full of bs, i dont know where to begin. why is it so hard for you guys to admit that a player who i believe is now 30 is not going to be playing his best and his prone to lapses. I mean ffs, nadal and fed were losing to people that they had a pretty good record against as well.

Istomin? Querrey? And how on earth, as good as Thiem is, does he get bageled in the final set? He threw in the towel. There is something other than physical going on here.
