How do I hit a better forehand?

So I can hit a forehand, but it always feels like my left arm (im a lefty) is flimsy and it dosent have much depth or pace to it. Any tips on how to hit a good forehand? Any videos, tips or anything to help is greatly appreciated. thank you.

thanks but im talking more about form like the backswing, path where to hit the ball, wrist flick at what time, etc

I'm also a lefty and I am experiencing the same problem. I think it's the timing issue, which I just opened a thread to ask. How strongly can you hit if you're fed with very slow, nice balls?

Hmm not sure but defiantly not nearly as good as if I'm having a normal rally

What is "a normal rally" to you? Say, if you rally against a guy who hits left and right, long and netted, fast, slow paced balls which frustrate the heck out of you or keep you on the run, I'd think most people's hit quality would go down.

a friend of mine helped me out with a similar problem. try this, when you swing through the ball, emphasize extending the tip of you racquet after contact. also, try pumping some iron.

Thanks, Ill try that. Ive been doing a gym type workout program for about 3 hours a week for about a year now and my forehand stability has improved alot (seeing as I play lefty but am actually a right handed person) since last year.

Also, what do you guys think of that college player I showed you? Good forehand motion?

I'd rate it in the good category but not excellent. He has no spin on his forehand at all, which could lead him to some problems in matchplay.

Take your racket back as far as you can and as soon as you see the ball coming towards you. Also, make sure that you make contact with the ball with the center of your racket string bed.

Its timing and also stability of the hitting arm. When your contact point isn't right, the racquet tends to twist in your hand and you get a very weak reply.
