Use wrist and turn your body towards the direction you want to hit to. However, turning your body will automatically inform higher level opponents what you're going to do. Btw, you nick sounds awfully Finnish...

first of all, your shoulder line must be in the direction of the target
your feet line too (if you execute it closed stance), with the right foot in front, establishing the platform
thus you must run around the ball, good footwork needed to establish that position, esp as many people do it rarely and do not have the practice
