how do you use gif file avatar?

hey i tried to use gif file for my avatar but TW say i can't.

But i see some users using gif file as their avatar. any help?

what does the message say? have you resized the image so its 80x80 pixels? (thnx Noelle for that) have you made sure that the size isn't over the TW limit?

well my image was 80X60 which is satisfactory, and the size was like 17m or something.

the message said i cannot use animated picture as my avatar which is weird. have they changed the rule?

Rumjungle recently changed his avatar recently to a *.gif, so they couldn't have changed the rule just like that.

they say you may not upload animated file

Oh... Sorry [JK]. I tried uploading another animated gif as an avatar and I got the same error message "You cannot upload an animated image."

I guess they've disallowed new animated avatars, but allow the people who have already uploaded these to keep them.

In that case, perhaps you can just put it in your signature so your hard work won't go to waste.

I don't think we can put images in our signatures either. But put the URL in there and people might be curious enough to copy it and paste it in their Address bars.

Bloody hell.. I spent another freakin' two hours trying to figure it our how the hell I can use the url in the TinyPic, but it doesnt work again. TAG is quite hard for me.. I'm stressed and disapponted about my lack of knowledge. damn. sorry to bother you guys.

Just copy the URL and paste it into the box for your signature. That's it, really, because you can't surround it with image tags if you're putting it in your sig.
