Others will have to chime in about Laserfibre, but I like Xcell. It's soft on the arm, quite good playability and holds tension better than NXT.
I thought XCel went dead pretty fast. It felt good for the first few days though... NXT is better imo.
xcell feels wondergul at first then before you know it it loses all tension and its done. too bad because it could be an awesome string if it would only last. probably the quickest dying string i have ever played...
I tried the FiberGel having not used too many Head strings. I was impressed. It's responsive, has a solid feel, and really does dampen a lot of the vibration. You really don't need to use a dampener with this string. The LF Supreme is a very solid feeling string, not as dampened as the FiberGel. They both seem to hold their tension well for multifiliments. I've used the LF Supreme more, and think its closer to gut in feel, but the FiberGel has a great sound when hitting. Both are easy on the arm, as is the NXT. I haven't tried the XCell, but I've strung it on a few rackets. It feels even softer.
I'd say the string that fits your job description would be 17g gut.
I play a 200g (and also a big Haas fan and have had good results with plain old 17g Gosen OG Micro or Babolat Super Fine Play.
I'll second what Steve said. Fibergel seems like the exact string you're looking for. It holds tension far better than NXT. Crisper and better control (b/c it holds tension better and is lower powered). And it's more durable. My only beef is it doesn't come in 17g. I honestly think fibergel can easily sell for $10-$12 but it's at $7. Can't beat this string.
