How does one get to the 'Overall' score in shoe reviews ?

What is the methodology of computing the 'Overall' score from the 7 scores a shoe receives for its comfort, arch support, stability, overall durability, toe durability, traction and weight ? Below is the arithmetic average of these 7 individual scores, together with the listed overall score, for several shoes that I pick randomly ( one from each brand).
The results were inconclusive: for some shoes, the overall is a round up of the arithmetic average, while for others, the overall score is higher than the average, sometimes by 0.25.

( This is a no brainer since only two of the scores are 4.6, while the remaining scores are below 4.6, yet the average listed is 4.6)

Not just shoes. Racquets overall score is different too. I remember something along the lines of "The overall score is not an average of all the other scores, and is treated the same as any other characteristic"

You are correct Duzza. The overall is not an average of scores. It is the playtester's opinion of the shoe/racquet as a whole.
