How does Prince TT Warrior compare?

I've been interested in the Prince TT Warrior for some time for it's reasonable price and specs, but it has proved impossible for me to find a demo. I already have 5 rackets I don't use, so I'd rather not add to that list. Can anybody compare the power and feel of the Prince TT warrior to another stick I've hit with? Does it feel muted, stiff, etc.?

Here's a list of what I've hit with, recently:

wilson n95 16x18 (currently using)
wilson k95 16x18
wilson npro surge
wilson pro staff classic 6.1

babolat PDR standard
babolat aeropro drive

prince speedport white

yonex RDS002 tour

head radical LM

the TT Warrior is a stiffer frame with some even balance with a good combination of power and controle.I found the weight a liitle bit to low so I put some lead in the racket to go to 310 GRAMS unstrung! It was also P. Rafter his choice, although I have doubts he played surely the same racket. I know it was full of lead too to increase the weight of the racket to 360 grams.
I played two years the racket as tenniscoach at played some tournemants in second division, I don't know what that level is in your country. In Belgium I had a B-ranking.
Later I played the radical oversize, I had more control and feel but lesser power.
Than I went for the Babolat Pure Drive but this racket was giving me lack of control but it was an easy racket to handle. Great comfort!
Today I play various rackets and don't find the right racket. I believe I need a racket between the Babolat Pure Drive and Head radical oversize .What is your experience with the rackets until now? Why you thought about the TT WARRIOR? It is an older racket? There are so many new rackets on the market!

I have the racquet and can't compare it to the racquets you mention, but I also have the Prince Shark mid+ and Dunlap m-fil 200 and I like these other two better.

One thing I will note about the TT is that the reviews that say this thing breaks easily are right. I have a tendency to have racquets fly out of my hand when I'm sweating alot, and this has happened to all my racquets and the TT cracked right in the throat after the first time I dropped it (i owned the racquet for less than a year). None of my other racquets cracked from dropping them.

I probably wouldn't recommend it as I know there are many better racquets out there.

Impossible to demo? I demoed it from TW less than two months ago before I switched to it. Is it always checked out or something?

That was my previous stick also. The switch to the TT Warrior was seamless. I loved the n6.1 95 and the Warrior has allowed me to have something similar in a lighter, slightly larger headsize frame. There was almost no adjustment period for me other than finding the right string tension.

Being a full ounce lighter, it's obviously a lot easier to swing. I always thought the n6.1 95 was easy to swing too until I switched. Then you notice how hefty the ProStaff is by comparison. With the Warrior, it's much easier to maneuver and hit those short-swing, half-volley type of shots you often face in doubles play.

The feel of the two racquets is similar in regard to stiffness, but the n6.1 being 12.5oz, feels much more solid on contact. The Warrior doesn't feel as if it has that same pop I was accustomed to with the n6.1. That's not say the Warrior is tinny because it's not. I don't like dampeners and feel very little vibration even when I was playing it with the cheap, factory strings it came with. I guess the Warrior actually has a dampener built-in with the dual-bridge, but it doesn't mute the feel the way a traditional does for me.

As far as the grip, it feels similar to the n6.1 in terms of size maybe a little rounder.

Hope that helps.

Tt Warrior Versus Vendetta Of Ferrer

Ferrer, the Spanish player, played also the TT warrior I supposed. today prince have made a new racket for him... the Prince TT Vendetta DB. Would it be the same racket as the TT warrior? It seems so?

Thanks for all the helpful replies. I know there are plenty of "newer" rackets out there, but from what I've seen, I can't say they're all that much better than what I've seen in the past couple years. In fact, of the few rackets I've tested, I can say I am not a fan of Wilson's K series. I considered demoing the TT from tennis warehouse a month or two ago, but the option to demo was not available then.

I'm considering the switch because I previously used the npro surge (11oz) which I felt was too light, and the N95's (12.5oz) are a little too heavy. I can handle the N95 just fine, but my arm gets tired after 2 hours of play, and the shoulder feels sore the next morning. Right now, I'm just browsing sticks that fall between that weight range.

FuriousYellow, what tension did you string your N95 at and what tension do you string the TT at? Currently, my favorite string set up on the N95 is a poly hybrid at around 50lbs. I've heard people say the TT lacks power, but will a lower tension make a big difference?

I used Pacific PolyGuy hybrid in both frames. On my n6.1 I had it at 58m/poly and 60c/gut. On my Warrior, I have it at 59m/poly and 61c/gut and I'm thinking of going up another lb. on my next string job.

I also demoed the Aerogel 300 4d Tour, Prince EXO3 MP, RQis Tour 95 XL, and Barricade Tour Light. They are well worthy demoing and I wouldn't have minded getting any of the except the RQis which felt boardy to me.

There are no overrated frames. Only overrated expectations of how much a new frame will improve your game.

This is a very correct opinion! Don't forget that lot's of topplayers plays older rackets with a new paintjob. Remember Agassi, etc.

The TT warrior has indeed that extra though for the spin and slice and is fantastic for netplayers. Ofcourse there are some more vibrations feelings at the TT Warrior comparing with the latest rackets of the new generation. But some vibration gives more feel and mostly can be resolved with some other stringchoice or taped lead at specific place at the frame.

I will test again the TT Warrior too. I remember it as a terrific racket.

Of the racquets on your list I've hit with...

wilson k95 16x18 (much lower powered than the warrior, heavier weight)
babolat PDR standard (much more power than the warrior, its a cannon)
babolat aeropro drive <= currently using, very similar
head radical LM (less spin than the warrior, feels more solid at contact despite being lighter weight)

I love the TT warrior and I do bring it out every now and then. It hits a similar to the APD. The APD gives me a bit more pop and more spin on my shots. The TT warrior served me pretty well through high school and college, I'm just a gear head and found a stick that lets me hit a bit better for my play style (baseline, heavy topspin, hit the felt off the ball). The funny thing is the warrior is the same weight as the APD but it just feels a bit heavier in my hands? Maybe it really is or its just bad QC...

Why you put higher tension on the crosses than at the main strings? Normally it is adverse( lower tension at the crosses strings.)

I was told to string poly a couple lbs lower. I used to have gut in the mains, but I'd break strings too quickly.

I demoed the TT Warrior a few months back. Try Tennis Warehouse demo program. It hits nothing like the Wilson classic 6.1 or Wilson N95. Nor like the head radical LM. I found a total lack of power with the TT warrior and very little feel, the racquet may be good for volleys, but that's about all. Spin off the TT Warrior was also a disappointment. I read all the great reviews on the TT Warrior, but the demo for me had no resemblance, at all. I did buy the head radical LM which I thought had more power, control and good pop and spin on the serve, after a good string job. I still prefer my Wilson Classic 6.1s over any stick, I've every owned or demoed, a 20 year old design and still kicks butt.

it surely depends with what kind of string you used at the TT warrior racket. I suppose that a fine flexible string like VS touch or alu power strung at MID level will compare to your lack of power.
