Which of these grinders will Chungs career most closely resemble?

-Novak Djokovic. Baby Djokovic is destined for greatness!
-Lleyton Hewitt. Chung will win a couple of majors
-Kei Nishikori. A sad case of injuries, injuries and more injuries
-David Ferrer. A steady, consistent career, doesn't quite have major winning potential
-David Goffin. Top 10 player who will become quite a big TW meme
-PCB/RBA. Clay courter, not very exciting to watch, little threat at majors.
-Borna Coric. After his initial breakthrough his career will stagnate
-Bernard Tomic. Will turn out to be an a-hole who likes counting his money.

I'm gonna say Nishikori.

There's some similarity there, some hint of familiarity that I just can't put my finger on.

Possibly more like Paradorn Srichaphan.

he will be top 5 player plus will win 2 majors for sure... I guarantee it , I seen this happen

Id say if healthy

Floor is Nishi
Most likely is Hewitt
Ceiling is maybe Murray type results a little more and a bunch of masters.

Remember Murray was kinda if a backboard type player for a while before he got lendl and starting ripping his FH

Chung is just another overrated hypejob.

I’ll be shocked if he wins a slam.

Kinda agree maybe with nishi remember he won a 250 as a teenager as a qualifier.

Kei would have had more hewitt type results I beleieve if he came up in an easier era

Barring injury he will do well. He is only 18 and already has a winning record on the atp. 59-46.

Seems to be on hewitts path. He matches up very vs everyone except like fed and karlovic, but baseliners he showed his stuff this tournament beating two multi slam champs

Chung will be hampered by injuries. He will get to top 10 as Fed predicted. If he wants it bad enough he may even win a major but he needs a few absentees.

I think Chung will have a similar career to M Chang. Sneak in 1 slam and win a few Masters. I have a feeling the next few years we’ll see quite a few different slam winners, similar to what we saw in 1996-2003.

I'll be surprised if he surpasses Nishikori's achievements.
I see no slam in his career with his game at this point. It could change for him or could change for others and leave him behind.

His semi-final run needed a bit of luck, wouldn't say complete fluke but unlikely he'll be back there soon.

Chung's first goal is to win an ATP 250 title. His serve is bad for his height, if it doesn't improve he'll fare up worse than Nishikori.
He's also had his fair share of injuries, he hasn't played on grass for 2 years now!
He isn't a clay courter, but he's good on the clay, if he's not injured he'll win his first title there.

The general field is pretty weak now, so even if his level doesn't improve much he could still do well.

Yeah its gonna depend on how his body holds up. He is the better of the Next Gens and should get at least one slam.

I hope he goes to the closest podiatrist, and to the expensive sneaker isle, and spring for a dozen or so in his size. It's like he took 2 giant steps forward during that slam, but one giant step backwards for the ending, which was pathetic. For me, it's too early to tell. He's probably the first Asian male to have the physicality to make it to the top, but I'm not sure about the "mental" part. His body language says to me: very young, immature. He should ask Roger or AZ for a little of their ego. They've got plenty to spare.

He's 21 already, not 18 ;) but in today's tennis you could say 21 is the new 18.

He has potential but atm i see him in the Ferrer/Goffin mould, they were quite late bloomers. The competition is looking weak in future, in that case he could well do a Wozniacki one day.

Too much wear and tear unless he plays smarter. He can use more free points from his serve and more variety to end points quicker.
