How high would you rank Djokovic's performance in his RG list?

I was impressed by the Serbinator today. This one against Thiem deserves to be placed on Novak's own list of best RG matches.
Contrary to the popular belief,Thiem was playing at a decent level,he had 27W to 34UE and 21 forced errors, better stats than Novak in the 15 final.
Djokovic had 15W to 15UE,seemingly not impressive,but also 44 Forced Errors(crazy good)
Also I don't think I have seen such good counter-pounching and retrieving on clay from him so far.

There it goes my list:
1)This match, because of his absurd defence and very good stats, exceptional play apart from like 3 games.
2)2015 QF against Nadal: Nadal was bad,but even like that, beating him 7-5 6-3 6-1 is a clear sign that Djokovic was in great shape,he also didn't have many off periods.
3)2011 semi: he had on and off periods during that match, but still ranks very high in my list due to the absurd level of play
4)2012 semi: He was very consistent during that match, straight setted Fed in a very convincing manner
5)2013 semi: A lot of times when he was off,but played clutch in the 4th set and pushed peaking Nadal hard in the 5th

I think Novak played his best against nadal 2013 when he was up in fifth set and then the sneaky French without Notice put a net out on the tennis court catching him by complete surprise. Nets in tennis who knew.
But kidding aside best baseline tennis in history in that final. Hope I am right it was 2013

For a challenger event he was playing decently. The score line of today's semi indicates he was not playing at a decent level for a grand slam semifinal.
You talk as if Djokovic wasn't even on the court.
Thiem wasn't the player we would expect, but Djokovic was close to his peak making him look way worse than he was. Match stats support my point.
I don't think current Nadal or Murray would have taken a set today either.

He looked extremely sharp and now has won 67% of this games in this tournament; that's hard to beat.

Thiem was not at his very, very best to be sure due to some fatigue (played 270 points Thursday, Djoko 160). Four solid sets for Thiem the day before. 3 easy sets for Djokovic. Djokovic still looked good, but got to be careful using your eyes when other player not all there.

I'm afraid I didn't see it - ITV showed the Murray match (which was really good from the perspective of a Murray fan!)
How did he play today?

Welcome to my world. I think one point of the Thiem match was shown on TC. I think it is the worst snub of the obvious #1 player I have ever seen in a slam...

I'm not surprised about ITV to be honest. I'm British, I'm in Britain, ITV is a British Channel - I saw what I expected to see.
But TC? Strange/disappointing to hear that they only showed 1 point! Even ITV flicked between the two more often :D

As good as he can at the moment.
Best match in the entire clay season and probably his best overall match in RG.The defence was plain scary, the same way he played against Roger in AO in the first 2 sets.
A small hiccup at the beggining of the 3rd but exceptional outside of it.

It was just weird. From time to time they did a split screen for a score update, but only for a few seconds.

Novak played at a very high level today..for a moment it reminded me of Novak vs Federer australian open semi .. he did look very focused and aggressive ..

The Wawrinka Murray match was a game with more potential and was a better match, the number one player he might be but not the number one match, which is what's important, it's not a snub. No fan of ITV's coverage, the amount of terrible choices they've made with matches that they show, but they did show the other match on their website today so that was good. I was double screening it myself. Shame you couldn't choose the match though that's the great thing about WImbledon over here, you can just pick the court you want to watch on the BBC, it's brilliant.

To paraphrase a former tennis great: "You CANNOT be serious!"

I am starting to think they have something against Thiem. That's twice now they don't want give him any coverage and he is likely to be deep in many tournaments for the next couple of years. I guess we have to wait for him to play an American..

Well Nadal played the best he can provide right now in Rome and still lost in straights,Djokovic was much better here.
Murray is not gonna touch Djokovic of the first 2 sets, sure thing,he could take the 3rd set.
Don't be upset for no reason, I was just giving my view.

I just couldn't believe you would think the Murray who played today could not have taken a set off Thiem. Just mind-blowing!

I would agree except that Wawrinka is Swiss and Murray is Scottish, so it can't be an anti-American thing. I think Thiem might eventually be pretty big in the US. He is young, polite. He speaks English well (from what I've heard so far). He's got a pretty big game.

For now I'm content say, "Well, that's the French." Because the real problem is taking to SFs and having them play at the same time. It really was no better for the women for the most part.

It is just a horrible way to run a major. The rain problems I understand, but the limited viewing hours are 100% coming from having no lights, and that puts the French way behind other slams. I've been critical of the USO for similar reasons. There is a lot of rain in September in NYC, but the rain should fix that problem.

Do you remember the recent Monday final between Cilic and Nishikori? 2014? If I remember correctly it was played on Monday, and it was also the last year CBS covered our own USO.

So over time the USO has become almost nothing in the US, though Serena has helped on the woman's side. Maybe the roof will make things a little better this year.
