How is ReString Zero? VS Solinco Confidential

TripleSSS

New User
I'm currently looking for a new main string.
I have been using the Solinco Confidential for awhile. But recently I have tried the Yonex PTP, PT Rev and PT Strike. Of the yonex strings, I preferred the feel of the Strike the most but felt that it had bit too much power, Rev was in second place but something about it felt missing. PTP was eh okay.
I have also enjoyed the Tecnifibre Razer Code Soft as it felt like Confidential.
I want to also try other strings especially ReString Zero because everyone who has reviewed it is raving about it.
So would like to ask how it is and if it would suit me before I decide to full send it despite the expensive shipping cost to my backwater country.
I use the Blade v9 18x20 with strings strung at 56lbs.
My preferences are more stiffer strings that doesn't have a high launch angle to allow a more point and shoot control but flattish shot. Ideal would be as stated but with great spin potential.
My shots have decent top spin but are more lower launch, penetrating flatter shots.

Other info is, I hated the Solinco Hyper-G and soft version as they didn't feel good and launched the ball way too high for my liking, spraying quite a bit.

Let's slow things up for a second. We need to outline the actual problems first, before we can go about addressing them. While you've shared a lot of other stuff (which is good), you've made no real mention of where, exactly, you feel Confidential is coming up short for you. If you can expand a bit more on that, it would help us make better recommendations.

That said, just going off what you've shared so far, I would focus more on round or round-ish (8-sided, at minimum) strings for the best predictability and precision on flatter contact and a lower launch angle (on average), medium-firm or more stiff so you don't have to string any higher in tension, and as low a string-to-string friction plus as high a string-to-ball friction as possible, to help max out spin. In that vein, here are strings I think you should try, with the most promising ones mentioned first:

- Luxilon 4G, 4G Soft
- Head Hawk, Grey or White
- Grapplesnake Tour M8
- Grapplesnake Tour Mako
- Tecnifibre Razor Soft
- Dunlop Explosive Red
- Dunlop Explosive Speed

As for strings like Zero (6-sided) or anything more shaped than that, you're welcome to try them, but as I mentioned, I don't think a purely flat hitter who is looking for ultimate "point and shoot" predictability is going to prefer them to more round options. In that vein, I would expect you to enjoy Restring Sync more than Zero. But hey, I've been wrong before, so go ahead and try it I guess, and see for yourself.

Hope that helps. Any further questions, feel free.

I'm planning to get a reel with the sale coming next week of zero. But sounds like you be better off off with sync if you want a more controlled round poly.

Trip's suggestions seem good. Knowing you hated Hyper G makes me skeptical about Zero.
I would also consider Tecnifibre Ice Code

I've used both strings extensively. Based off how you've described your game, and your dislike of Hyper G, I think you will like confidential more than zero. With that being said, it is absolutely worth trying zero out if you are curious. I feel like I have more precise control with confidential than zero. Zero has noticeably better spin potential than confidential in my opinion. It isn't as launchy/erratic feeling as Hyper G to me. Confidential has the most consistent response in my opinion.
