The Italian superstar has been on a rise, defeating the Serbian legend Djokovic twice in the span of 2 weeks. He ended the year winning the Davis cup for Italy, the first time in over 40 years. Will he be a nuisance to Carlos Alcaraz and snatch the number two ranking from him? Is this the coming of Sinner? How many big titles will he lift in 2024?

I am just messing around but I wouldn't be shocked at all if Sinner raises a slam trophy, actually I kinda expect it.
I wouldn’t be surprised at a slam either, but if the Serbian legend is across the net from him in that final, I don’t see him lifting the trophy

So you admit the next gen are so terrible that they have no chance against a 37 years old in BO5.

Though I think Jannik will be seeded second at the 2024’s USO
Its too late in the night for such a discussion, but let the guy make it to a slam F first, and beat the gatekeepers such as Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Zverev in BO5 before we can start talking about his slam title potential.

You’ll see it. Jannik had an excellent end to 2024 and I’d be surprised if he doesn’t reach a career high of number 2 before Beijing 2024.

They are inferior to Sinner. Sinner just needs a good clay season and he’ll be the second seed by the USO.

As recently as 3 months ago, a wobbly Zverev beat Sinner in 5 at USO (should've won in 4). Before that, at AO this year, Tsitsipas beat him in 5 (should've won in 3 or 4).
I'd keep my predictions for BO5 reserved and refrain from using BO3 results as a base.

Disagree and it’s sad. Sinner had 24 break points and had many chances in the first 4 sets of that 5 set loss. Sinner was actually the better player for those 4 sets. Sinner should’ve won in 4 IMO

I agree about the concern. Let’s see how he shows up in Melbourne. But I think he’ll reach #2 right before he turns 23
He doesn't need to defend that much from the Australian Summer, 4R at AO is about 180 & QF at Adelaide 250 is 45, a combined total of 225 points; so yeah a lot of points up for grabs there. But then, from Montpellier to Miami, he defends about 1500 points before entering CC season.

It was not as it Sinner was shanking on those break points or Tsitsipas was fluking them; iirc T!ts found a cracking first serve on a vast majority of them and crushed a 3rd ball FH when the serve did come back to gain the upper hand in the point straight after.

I predict he makes at least a semi at AO, wins Rotterdam and wins one of IW/Miami - leaning Miami. Clay, he can make couple masters semis and maybe a RG semi if he’s not affected by the pollen too much. Grass season - I expect him to win Halle if he plays and a Wimbledon semi/final

Halle's too fast for him imo. But good luck for everything else, theoretically all of it is kind of doable but let's see if it sees the light of the day.

Good night man, see ya tomorrow (technically today, lol)

I just don’t see anybody competitive on grass to beat him there (I’m expecting him to be top three by then)

Sinner must evolve physically and mentally to topple the old wolf from the throne in the tournaments that really matter, the Grand Slam events.
At 22 years old, already at the beginning of his prime, the Italian player should be ready for great things and that is none other than winning his first Major title of his career.
It would be excellent if they met in the semifinals in Melbourne indoors, so the good sinner would have a better chance of defeating the 10-time Australian Open winner than if they met outdoors.
:D.

Djokovic will skip almost every Masters1000 except Rome, Bercy and maybe Monaco. I think it's clear Alcaraz Sinner and Medvedev (maybe Zverev or Rune) will sweep all of these titles. Sinner can easy win 2 or 3 Masters... like Miami, Montreal and Shanghaï. On HC he seems better than Alcaraz and Medvedev today. 1 Slam is a fair bet, imo. Wimbledon or USO. So, I'd predict 3 or 4 big titles.

Will he defeat the legend in the semifinals if it is played indoors, at night in front of the legendary ROD LAVER

Only if he is physically and mentally prepared, since he has the groundstrokes to defeat anyone on indoor hard courts.

He is 0-5 vs Djokovic in important sets 2023, that needs to change before i make any prediction. In the tour finals he looked like he had lost before the first set was over.

What about the ATP finals? That would make 5
