Having just recently discovered this forum, i'm curious how many Canadians are lurking around here...If you're Canadian, drop a post in here with what city you're from.

I'll start...i'm Dave, and i'm in Winnipeg, Manitoba...anyone else?

I'm from Calgary and played tennis on Nov.2 at 3:30pm and it was 20C! Two days later it snowed....I love/hate Canada. And yes, that was outdoors.

:) Same here...played on the 2nd outdoors and it was 15* (or so), by today we are under snow and ice and it is -15*c (with windchill)....lousy good for nothing canadian weather :(

I not only live in Canada, but am probably the closest member to you. Nice ice storm, eh? 'Tis the season for layers under the parkas, winter itch and severe hibernation.

yup, I really enjoyed chopping up all that ice on my driveway this weekend  Oh well...indoor tennis clubs make you forget about the rubbish outside for a few hours....till you have to scrape off your windshield after you're done playing :(

haha i'm in winnipeg too, but not for long i will be attending intensive immersion french classe in quebec city and then be moving to montreal after that. How is the tennis scene in quebec city if anyone is out there?

Tennis scene in Quebec is amazing; tops in Canada. If you want to watch pro tennis, there is the Rogers Cup in Montreal and the Bell Challenge in Quebec, as well as the junior event just outside Montreal.

There are also a decent selection of indoor places to play. They are getting very expensive though.

How much is it?

It was around $80-$100/month here last time I check.

I used to pay $60-$65 a month. The place was by far the best in Montreal. It also had a full gym, swimming pool, and squash/racquetball/badminton courts. The price I paid included the gym and unlimited tennis (with no court fees) between 6am-9am and 9pm-11pm. I haven't played indoor tennis in a couple of years. Prices have gone up everywhere. The same membership now costs about $87/month. How is it in AB?

I think there are 2-3 indoor place here. Around $80/month, however, they requires contacts and/or initiation fee $600-$800. I haven't find enough time to make joining those club worthwhile. So only 6 months of tennis for me :(
