Poll is up, discuss.
He would have won regardless. According to veronique, Nadal is playing his best tennis right now.
Nadal is losing to boobs now. Weak era.
Nadal's timing is off and he appeared to be tired. He got to the final of his first tournament and that's great. But how he is going to deal with yet another match after the singles finlal is yet to be seen.
Nadal was healthy today but still lost.
WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.......Nadal lost....I came back thinking Nadal would smoke 6-2,6-2 like RG!
threads like this make me laugh..
im a nadal fan, but loser gimp-speak like nadal wouldve won if.. 'he were healthy' is just absurd..
if he was healthy ?..what did he have ??..the ebola virus ?..Lassa fever ?..dengue fever ??..rosolitis ? the Lurgy ?.
Why so defensive? I don't think much of this loss...would not expect him to go undefeated during the clay court season, but man.....what is your point, OP?!
In best of 5, 7.
In best or 3, 4 or 5.
2010 Roland Garros
Nadal, Rafael, 6-2, 6-2, 6-3
Nadal at peak.. hmm 2012 clay court dominance level. Possible 2 games, 6-1, 6-1.
He beat ferrer and djokovic 3 times quite easily in some of those match ups!
Nadal is done. RG 2012 could very well be his last title. I mean Cipolla? Cebolla?
He lost a set to Cipolla in 2011 CLay MS1000...he still won RG.
I think he will get back mean form in RG.....though if he remains in this funk....I prefer he reaches his Federer in the QF/SF. Federer best chance to beat Nadal at RG bar 2011.
it was pre-prime zeb, andres... almost the same you defeated several times if my memory is ok !
She knows nothing, and lives in denial. Her posts have gotten so silly that I usually just skim right past them.
Twelve times! No more, no less
He's healthy. Just a bit rusty. And Zeb played a great match. No need to take credit away from him.
When it comes to Nadal she spreads hope and you spread disdain. Guess what people respect more.
This was a good result for Nadal in his first tourney back. You cannot just expect a guy to come off a 7 month break and win tourneys no problem. He got to the final and played a tough match. He will have to be better to make a good defense of his clay points but as long as the knee isn't a huge bother his form will improve.
Nadal won't be playing if he wasn't "healthy". It is his first tournament. Need to get the timing back.
This year might be Federer's best chance to beat Nadal at RG.
... backdated congratulations !
so now leave these poor plastic chairs in peace and please spank the nadal for me... you can do it !
I haven't seen her say that. She said he was playing well for not having played in seven months, which prior to today was true. Did anyone think he would lose today? No, but it's a process. We'll see where he is in April.
Yep and the end of the third set also came to mental toughness. That one doesn't come back in one day obviously. On the whole, I'm rather pleased with the state of his game itself. I think the basics are good.
Actually veronique is no longer a Rafa fan, she switched allegiance to Djoker in 2011.
Veronique is more reasonable on her end of the spectrum than Clarky is on hers.
I've always liked both but I've also always put Rafa first.
Yeah, you've indicated that by saying Nadal is less intelligent...
anyway...this is not the WTA where a former champ can just enter a tournament and win after a year's absence from the game.
I said imo Djoko is the most intelligent of the top 4. I also said Rafa is the cutest In any case, I support Rafa when they play against each other and I don't think that will ever change.
Exactly. 2 finals for his come back event is a solid result. (But it's been 7 months, not 1 year).
How tall would I be if my dad was 8'11"?
Sigh.. These threads just never end, the answer is we will never know, ever!
Another absolutely worthless thread.
Nadal *WAS* healthy, but he lost. Plain and simple.
Why speculate on what COULD have happened?? Makes no sense at all.
Wow Nadal lost,surprise
World No. 73 Horacio Zeballos denied top seed Rafael Nadal a triumphant end to his first comeback event, topping the 11-time Grand Slam champion 6-7(2), 7-6(6), 6-4 to capture his first ATP World Tour trophy.
For the 1000th time - Nadal NEVER loses when he is fully fit.
He is healthy and he lost, he is just not 100%, get over it.
If he's not healthy now then he'll never be healthy again. 9 months is a long time and if he can't run now..then time to take up pro poker.
Better to say it was fatique or timing or match toughness if you really want to make a case for Nadal.
I've never even heard of the guy. I even heard of his opponent in the semi's but not him.
Lol i don't know if your being sarcastic ....hehe
Against Rosol he looked fit as a fiddle.
Nadal will need to enter the Challengers Circuit and even then he will struggle. 8)
