How many hours do you get out of your Alu Power?

I've been using full alu power for awhile now, and I love the strings ... but they seem to go dead pretty quick. Just curious about how many hours you guys get out of Alu power before you cut it out??

I originally switched to alu power because I was sick of breaking strings all the time and having to carry 4 racquets. But with the way the alu power goes dead I almost feel like I have to do the same thing just to rotate them. Ugh.

I tried SilverString which someone recommended. At first I liked it, but after hitting with it for awhile I actually hate it. It has a very "plasticky" and "cheap" feel to me (and makes a horrible ping sound no matter how I dampen it)

I play at least 1-2 hours almost every day and I'm a string breaker. I need something durable, that also doesn't go dead after a few sessions. I like the "dead" feel of the Alu power when it's new, but it REALLY goes dead after that. Anyone have any other recommendations??

Yep, I also feel that Alu Power dies in a few quick hitting sessions. Currently, I am using Blue Gear and Big Ace, and they are a big improvement than Alu Power.

Huh? Why would anyone other than a pro want strings that broke every 3-5 hours? What a PITA that would be. You'd have to carry 4 racquets everywhere you go and constantly hassle with getting them restrung. That's why I'm using them in the first place ... because I DO break non-poly strings in 3-5 hours and it's a royal PITA.

Yeah I've started to think about that. I'm just pretty busy as it is and don't know if I want to spend 30 minutes restringing a stick every few days.

I used to play with Alu-Power and those lasted like forever. I'm a pretty hard hitter and I thought that thay kept tension well and lasted me 6 months (playing 2-3 times/week)

I noticed a slight change in the performance of Alu Power Rough (full job) after approximately four hours of playing. It wasn't terrible at that point by any means but just not quite as good as when fresh. When fresh, I was landing all of my groundies inside the baseline, and toward the end of my last match (approximately hour #4 for my stringjob), I started to sail a few more balls long.

Take care.

Give Big banger original a try. It's got most of the good characteristics of alu but it lacks a little bit of that "pop" that alu has. The tension holds better and it plays better for longer over alu plus it's cheaper as well. You might be surprised at how well it plays, I know I was. I was able to get a mini reel a month or 2 back from TW for only $30 which works out to be 10 a set. It's worth a shot.

Ped is right the original plays good longer than most polys out there. As far as alu goes it plays good for about 3 hours, then it stiffens up+feels like crap!!!!!!!!!

I've never tried the original, I may do that. Anyone know if the fluoro lasts decently?

limitup, give the BBO a go, I'd be very surprised if you did not like it but stay away from the original ROUGH, it's much stiffer and harsher.

I've never tried the flouro, but a buddy of mine did and quite liked it but said it was not worth the premium over regular alu. It had an interesting feeling-still firm but soft as well if that makes any sense. They are coming out with the lux M2 in the next few weeks. If you google search for luxilon m2, it throws up a link where you can sign up for a free sample.

a customer of mine had the same problem as you...full alu power, but went dead too fast...
I strung up for him full CyberFlash 1.25...he loves it, and plays with it until it breaks, which is at least 2 weeks. it's also a lot cheaper...
