How many more slams would Federer have won if he did not meet Nadal/Djokovic BEFORE the final?

I am excluding the finals which Federer lost to his 2 big rivals in this list, since that result was sealed and he lost.

But, HYPOTHETICALLY, it Federer won the below semi finals, how many of the finals would he go on to win?

Let’s see:

- 2005 RG: Had Federer beaten Nadal in that semi, I think he’d almost definitely go on to win the final. He was beating everyone except Nadal on clay and would have beaten Puerta in the final. He only lost 4 matches that whole year, this RG semi being one of them.

- 2008 AO: Had Federer beaten Djokovic in that semi, I actually think the final would be fairly close. Federer was still battling the effects of mono and Tsonga was insane that tournament. But I still think Federer would’ve won this just based off the experience gap between these 2 at the time.

- 2010 USO: Had Federer beaten Djokovic in that semi, I don’t think he would have beaten Nadal in the final. Nadal was absolutely insanely good that tournament and had Federer’s number back then. Fed ain’t winning this one.

- 2011 AO: Had Federer beaten Djokovic in that semi, I think he goes on to win the final against Murray pretty comfortably. Fed always had Murray’s number in the slams and Andy wasn’t playing particularly well at the time. Fed takes this one too.

- 2011 USO: Had Federer beaten Djokovic in that semi, the final would’ve been extremely close. Nadal was very good but not quite on the same level as in 2010. I still think Nadal would edge this one though, given Federers mental block against him at the time.

- 2012 AO: Had Federer beaten Nadal in that semi, I think the final would be very tight, but Djokovic would probably still win. The guy was a physical monster at the time and went back-to-back marathon matches to seal it. Djokovic takes this too.

- 2012 RG: Had Federer beaten Djokovic in that semi, absolutely no way does he beat Nadal in that final. Nadal was monstrous in that tournament, no one was going to stop him.

- 2014 AO: Had Federer beaten Nadal in that semi, I think he takes the title, but possibly in 4 or 5 tight sets. Wawrinka was monstrous during that tournament, but his game never matched up well with federer’s. Djokovic and Nadal’s styles were much more favorable for Stan at the time, unlike Roger. Federer takes this one.

- 2016 AO: Had Federer beaten Djokovic in that semi, I think he beats Murray in the final and takes the title. Murray was not particularly good in that final and, again, fed always had his number in the slams. Fed takes this one.

- 2019 RG: Had Federer beaten Nadal in that semi, I don’t think he was beating Thiem in the final. Thiem was much younger and faster and better suited on clay than old Federer. Thiem takes this one.

- 2020 AO: Had Federer beaten Djokovic in that semi, I don’t think he was beating Thiem in the final. He already played 2 gruelling 5 setters up to the semi and was battling a knee injury too. Dominic would take this one easy.

So, how many additional slams would Federer (probably) have won if he actually reached more slam finals by knocking out his great rivals along the way?

Based on my analysis, he would probably have won an additional 5 slams, putting him at 25.

Thoughts?

Agree 100% with OP - I also use the same reasoning, see below

2005 RG - Yes
2008 AO - Yes, think Fed's majors experience gets him over the line even if he was physically not 100% compared to 2007
2010 USO - No, Nadal was not losing this tournament, he was hitting huge groundstrokes and serving like a hybrid Sampras/Roddick, Djoker was lucky that there was a 2 hour rain delay at -4 30-30 in the 2nd set otherwise it was going to be a straight sets win for Nadal
2011 AO - Yes, Murray was poor and would have had a bad mental block against Fed given the straight set beatdown in the 2010 final
2011 USO - No, Nadal still had the mental edge over Fed at that time
2012 AO - No
2012 RG - No - Djoker was very lucky to win that 3rd set as the final looked to be headed for a straight set beatdown
2014 AO - Yes, Stan never beat Fed outside of clay
2016 AO - Yes, Murray did not mentally show up in the final as I think his wife was due to give birth any day during that tournament
2019 RG - No, Thiem on clay is a horrible match-up
2020 AO - No, Fed's knee was busted, he was lucky to get past Millman and Sandgren, would have been a huge miracle if he got past Djoker, even then, Thiem would have finished off Corpserer in the final
