How many of you rotate multiple shoes?

I do rotate at times, same Nike Lunars model, but only on hard courts (should do the same on clay but since the shoes last longer, I don't feel like making the investment).

Hey, junior. Don't just indiscriminately impugn the great Bozo the Clown. Grew up watching him. The most famous clown in these here United States of America. A legend!
And for the yuts who made some derogatory comment about rotating diff colored shoes to match clothing? Suck it!

My bad. Even Bozo would not wear that colorway. Maybe Homey D. Clown...........................nah

What colorway are u blabbering about?
Any of the Sprint Pros. Good shoe, fits well, this color in particular,

I do like Nike. It's American, stylish, good quality. I only wear Nike! Someone got a problem with that?
That head red white and blue shoe bothers you? I wouldn't buy Head shoes , but I see nothing hideous about it?!
I do think Nike's Volt/pink vapors as seen in the olympics are hideous. Even Nike does stupid things. There's a lot of vanilla peeps out there who wear bland colorless outfits. Whatever.

I love nike, too. Most of my sneakers are nike and for some strange reason none of my tennis shoes are from the swoosh brand. I think adidas makes the best tennis footwear without a doubt, even though right now I have 2 pairs of new balance and only one adidas tennis shoes. Interesting...

I mean you get the same amount of court time either way, so why would it matter? I'm just confused by this whole thing, what advantage is there to switching shoes, especially to different models, instead of just wearing them till they are done then wearing a new pair.

Other than not wanting to step into a still soggy shoe if you played earlier and the fashion aspect, I don't know what the advantages would be. Probably has more to do with just wanting to wear different colors and styles.

2 pair of 100 % white shoes for certain private clubs, 3 pair for clay, 3 others for hard courts, brands vary. Mid-sole and tops go before the bottoms for me.

rotate through 3-4 vapors based on outfit -- always take advantage of the sales on the vapors when they show up for ~$75 shipped - stay in the box until another pair is finished... will skip pairs if they're gross (i.e., green camo, blue camo, rio pair - eventually...)

I thought I paid serious attention to my tennis shoes. But by reading some of the comments, looks like I don't. In fact at any point in time, I will have just one pair of my favorite shoe. But might have one or two pairs of some other shoes which I find in sale somewhere, and seem to fit OK. If the "sale shoe" works OK I will keep playing with it till it wear out. But may use my favorite shoe when I go for some serious tennis (which is rare now a days). So in general, I end up using whatever is on sale now a days, but always keep a back up favorite pair, just in case. I run through my shoes pretty quickly and so keep buying my favorite shoe would have been seriously expensive for me.

Hardcourt is like sandpaper. It destroys my soles. I might as well play on lava rocks. Consequently, I never pay full price and I'm always looking for a sale...asics, babs, wilson,etc...it doesn't matter. Currently, I have 4 pairs, 2 are almost slicks. Running shoes are different...top of the line all the way, asics gel kayanos for me.

Todays rehashed topic: Shoe rotation!

So the last time I shopped at a local tennis store, I spent a couple hours and tried on a bunch of shoes and got an idea of what sizes and models work best for me (I did buy a pair of shoes there before I left, I have a conscience). When those wore out, I bought a new pair of a different model (K-Swiss Hypercourt Express) in that list online. I looked into the idea of rotating multiple shoes and decided to buy another pair to get them to last longer.

Now, for whatever stupid reason, I decided to buy a pair of Asics Solution Speed 2's instead of another pair of K-Swiss'. Now I am questioning whether I made the right decision, and I'm thinking about returning them. I have a pair of Superfeet Blues that probably need replacing soon, but they fit decently well in the Kswiss shoes.

So my question to you guys is, how many of you rotate shoes? And are they all the same model? If they are different, is it distracting at all? What would you do?

As always, thanks for reading.
:)

thought that kswiss were kind of wide? and ASSS2s are sort of narrow, so probably the fit is very different, so you would probably notice a big difference
and they could possibly be a significant distraction

i always try to rotate my shoes to let them dry out, as i tend to sweat a lot.
i have ASGR6s and ASCH10s, slightly different shoes, but actually the fit is very close. the ASGR6s are lower to the ground, and probably lighter.

Yeah they were, I ended up returning the Asics. Seemed to fit differently with the arch length or something. I'm thinking of just buying multiple pairs of the Kswiss and just rotating those.

I used to wear only one pair of shoes (Asics gel Resolution 6).
Now I buy Vapor 9.5, Lunar Ballistec 1.5 and Asics gel solution speed 2, I'm rotating them.

asics GR6s and CH10s fit me pretty good, i bought a pair of ASSS2s, but they were way too narrow, so i returned them. i did try some Nike vapor 9.5s
they fit pretty good, but i will probably stick with asics GR6s

For me, the added value is that I can extend the life of certain colorways that I enjoy. For instance, I have a pair of vapors from 2013 (US Open) that I love. I won a ton of matches in them. If I used them exclusively, I would tear through the outsole in 3 weeks as the rubber would become more malleable from consistent wear/usage. Because i have 10-12 other pairs in the rotation, they see the court less often and last longer.

It seems that if you can really wear through outsoles in three weeks, you would be better off doing that, claiming the warranties, and getting two pair for the price of one all day long. If shoes wear out in three weeks, then they do. Putting them in the closet for a couple of years does not make them last for two years, they still are just good for three weeks of play.

some old new balance shoes that I found at a BIG 5 for $30 that I use to mess around with. Match day shoe is currently the ballistec advantage.

I have some Lunar ballistec 1.5s and vapor 9.5s waiting to be added to the rotation though.

I'm curious to know how K-Swiss fit. The general consensus seems to be that they are wider, which works for me. Would be great to hear your feedback.

I don't think they are that much wider than most shoes. I feel they fit pretty similar to my New Balance 786's, which are listed as medium. With the stock insoles, I seem to slide forward a bit, which rubs the widest parts of my feet red. Using Superfeet insoles keeps my foot in place better and prevents that.

As with most things, it's probably best to try the shoe out somewhere for yourself.

I have a fairly large selection of shoes in my rotation that reside in my locker at the club. 2 pair of Nike Cage 2 all court soles, 1 Pair Nike Cage 2 Clay sole, 1 Pair Nike Air Max Cage, 1 pair Nike Lunar Ballistec, 1 Pair Nike Lunar Ballistec 1.5, 1 Pair K-Swiss Big Shot 2, 1 Pair Adidas Ubersonic G-Dubs, and 1 Pair Adidas adizero Y3 2016.

I also have 4 Pair of Adidas Barricade 2015's at home that I pulled out of rotation when they started to become uncomfortable in the forefoot after a non-tennis related injury.

I normally wait for shoes to go on deep sale before I purchase them, but I did make an exception or two for some limited editions (G-Dub and Barricade Miami). I am a bit picky when it comes to colors which is one of the reasons I rotate. If I find a colorway I like, I would rather put it rotation to keep it around longer as I tend to match my shoes with hats, wristbands, etc. to my tennis clothing. So, if I see a shoe that I like the fit of that matches my tennis clothes colors, I will eventually buy them when they go on sale.

My favorite pair? Adidas adizero Y3 2016's. I can only hope they eventually come out with this shoe in a production model as I love every aspect about it.

QUOTE NastyWinners 'I rotate between the cages for practice and the vapors for match play.' Good to see a bit of performanced based thinking! I try to save my just worn in shoes for matches and rotate the older ones in practice; I play on clay, grass and synthetic grass and clay surfaces most of the time, so the grip from newer tread helps with slide control; I like having worn soles on my infrequent hardcourt outings, to enable shuffling and to attempt the odd slide - when did THAT - sliding on hard courts - come in lol? (Marat Safin or maybe Rios are the first that I can recall, it's certainly a phenomenon now.)

Once I find a pair of tennis shoes that work and fit well for me I buy two pair. I have such finicky feet/knees that once I get that magic combination of fit, feel, comfort I stop looking. I am not impressed with a lot of the shoes out there. Too cheaply constructed and all plastic. Makes my feet horribly hot. So my choices are limited.

Frequent rotation of different pairs of shoes is potentially not good.
Human body adjusts to given conditions and it takes some time.
For example, your joints provide less cushion if you are on very cushy shoes, more cushion if you are on hard shoes.

:)

I always rotate my shoes. When I find a style I like (right now I'm in the Asics Resolution 6's), I wait til they're on sale then buy them. If I like them, I end up buying them in multiple colors. I've found in the past if I don't do this and try to buy the shoes later on when I've worn out my only pair, I can't find my size. I've also run into problems when I buy the update of the current shoe I'm using and I don't like the update. This way I always have a backup pair of the old style I already know I like. In the summer sometimes I need a couple of days for my shoes to air out before I wear them again, so I have another shoe to wear in the meantime. Hope this helps.

Clay court Asics SS2, hard court Asics SS2. I have separate SS2 for practice and specific SS2 for matches. Match shoes are in the same color pattern as my racket :)

3 x pairs of Barricade Team 2 (white/black, black/orange, and black/white).

Those lasted so long because I had 2 x pair of Bercuda 1s (white/black and black/silver).

The BT2s are almost worn out now, so I have a pair of CC Rally and Sonic Rallys. Two somewhat similar models.

2-3 pairs of T22s in rotation. New ones end up being used on the hard courts until the sole and cushioning wears down then I set them aside for summer/clay court duty until they finally wear out. I prefer the older ones on the clay. They slide more predictably and pick up less clay. I don't find traction to be an issue.
