How many pairs of shoes did you wear out this year??

i would think that the ability to not wear out shoes with 15+ hours of play per week is something to be more proud of. that would tell me that the person is a graceful mover as opposed to one who has to force the movement. i bet fed gets exceptional life out of his shoes compared to the other touring pros

3 pairs of Asics GR 2's. I also have a pair of Nike Air Max Mirabellas, which I only wear sometimes. The Nike's are really comfortable, but not very supportive and I rolled my ankle in them.

I find that the cushioning and inside of the shoes break down before the soles wear out. A lot of people only look at how much the sole is worn to determine if shoes are worn out.

I try to buy my shoes on sale. I bought 3 pairs of Asics GR 2's last year when they went on sale. I just started wearing the last pair yesterday. Now I plan to buy 2 or 3 pairs of the Asics GR 3's which are now on sale. That should get me through 2012. I go though 3-4 pairs of tennis shoes a year. I typically play 3-4 times per week.

The Nike CB2.3 ar/were the best of both worlds. But they stopped making them more than a year ago so it may be a truggle to find any in your size. I'd buy either the new Adidas B7 or wait and try the Nike CB 4.3. You get a 6 month wear warranty too.

Both the B6 and CB 3.3 were durable but comfort was debatable and more dependent than usual on your foot type.

Somehow i have my doubts on the durability of the barricade 7's. They do not offer the same amount of protection just above the toes.

In my country i don't have much choice between shoes...
here we generally have New Balance, some nikes (vapor and air max), some adidas (baricade 5-6 and team) and if your lucky, one or two options of prince, asics or babolat....Most people here wear New Balance, which i find atrociously uncomfortable and hard.

I generally found nikes to be lighter and less durable...and adidas more durable but heavier. Comfort is harder to measure...

5 pairs of breathe 2k10s

I recently bought 5 pairs of adidas adizero feathers for next year. I think breathe 2k10 are durable and more comfortable than adizeros but I switched to adidas becauuse I am tired of 2k10s

It depends on a number of factors. Some people are heavier than others and still move quickly, so they are going to be putting more friction onto the bottom of the shoes by changing directions.

Some people have terrible footwork and some people consistently drag a toe. For toe draggers, the rest of the shoe can be fine and the toe can be completely exposed.

Some people move so quickly that they are going to be sliding into stops even on a hard court which will grind away the outsole more quickly.

The court can also make a difference. Rougher court surfaces will tend to eat shoes more quickly, unless your footwork is perfect.

Just from my time with both shoes, Ive gotten more out of the Feathers in terms of durability and stability. You are however right on the 2k10s being the more comfy of the two, the Feather still is a comfy offering as long as you dont have a fat foot. Also went through my 14th pair of shoes this week!

Thank you for your info about durability and stability of Feathers. I have played only twice with Feathers so I can't say if it is more durable than 2k10s. I think you are right because a lot of people saying adidas is more durable than nikes.

I have wide feet so I am feeling uncomfortable right now with Feathers. I hope I get used to them as I am using it and feel comfortable soon.

I should have bought half size bigger than 2k10s since I have wide feet but I already bought 5 pairs of same sizes. I hope I get used to them and feel comfortable.

In 2011 I wore out:
- January 2011: 1 pair of Adidas Barricade 6.0 (started using in November 2010)
- February 2011: 2nd pair of Adidas Barricade 6.0 (started wearing in early/mid-January 2010)
- March 2011: Nike 2k11 (lasted 3 weeks)
- April 2011: didn't wear anything out! miracle!
- May 2011: didn't wear anything out!
- June 2011: Babolat Propulse 2 (started wearing end of March 2011). Also wore out Lotto Vector (only lasted 1.5 weeks, yikes)
Didn't play from June 18th through end of year due to injury.

Summary:
Adidas Barricade 6.0 last me about 6 weeks
Babolat Propulse 2 last me about 2 months
Nothing else lasted a month

Problem is I slide on hardcourts, which tears the shoes (and the uppers) to shreds.

2 questions/requests:
1) Post the video of yourself playing
2) Post the picture of the shoe that is "done"

Thanks

I have the barricade 6's...and so far they seem to be very durable...but not as comfortable as they should be. The shoe lace hole cuts my feet to shreds. I have found solutions for that problem...but still surprised that Adidas hasn't fixed this problem, as the barricade 4's did the same to my feet....

I'm going to see how many pairs of 3.3's/4,3's I can get through this year.

I already have one, but it's kind of cheating because I got them in December ;)
