How many pairs of the same shoes do you have ?

Vapor 9.5. I've had 5 pairs of them, all retired from tennis use now, aside from the clay-court ones.

Zoom Cage 2. I've had 5 pairs of these too, destroyed the first two and now have three for tennis use.

So yeah, I'm addicted to Nike ~2015 tennis shoes. I started playing again very seriously that year after a 3-year layoff, and went a bit crazy on gear.

Cool, and how do you deal with them once they “retire”. Throw away ? Stack in the basement?

Wear them to the office!

My Vapors are Volt, Black/Volt, and Blue Lagoon, and they get lots of compliments from the office. People don't have to know they are trashed and can't protect my feet anymore.

The Vapors got retired from match play as soon as they started slipping, but the uppers and everything are pristine. The telltale sign was that I would tweak my Achilles tendon, and that would be the end of them.

But the tread on the Cages is so good that they don't slip even when there are literally holes in the sole. Very big difference. I can still play on them even when they look unsuitable for anything aside from gardening.

I've got 3 pairs of K-Swiss Ultrashot-2's: one pair for tennis, one older pair for walking and one unused in reserve (bought at a discount, of course). ;)

For future use:

4 pairs Asics Solution Speed 2 (red/yellow) - will use when I wind up using my 2015 French Open Aero Pro Drive rackets on a more regular basis. Rackets match the shoes. :)
3 pairs Asics Solution Speed 2 (clay version - neon yellow) - had these stockpiled before my previous club (all Har-tru courts) closed. Rarely play on Har tru nowadays, so these should last a bit.

Using now:

Rotating 2 pairs of Asics Court FF 2 (blue & red), and just got another red pair today. Might buy more since they're on sale and in stock. Wish I bought more of the first blue iteration.

A while back, I purchased 5 pairs of Asics gel Challengers when on sale on big auction site for around $25.00 including shipping a pair. Was very cheap, and was the shoe I was using at that time, as I had 2 pairs at that time, so I had 7 pair after that order. For that price, I stocked up, and now I wish I doubled that order.

Wait, after weeks/months of being soaked by sweat, you retire them from tennis and wear them to the office?

Months? Years lol.

I always have at least two pairs that I rotate for match play, and I take care of them. As soon as I get home, they come off and get the paper/cardboard stuffed back in them, and maybe I'll leave them outside. I also powder my feet. Sweat/smells are not the issue.

I also looking for a chance to purchase multiple pairs at good price. But way often than not those are not my size. Too big or too small.

I have only two pairs of the same shoe, Yonex Sonicage wide. In the past, I would have benefited by stocking up on more pairs of a shoe that fits me well, but I don't like to lock up money in shoes that may go bad in storage.

My current rate is to destroy about three pairs of tennis shoes per year (I wear through the outsole to the midsole). At the moment, I have six pair of used shoes in my rotation, though a few of those are at the unsafe stage and I should probably toss them. I tend to wear the shoes out under the big toes.

I'm really only keeping multiples of the NB fresh foam LAVs and Vapor X at the moment.

Pairing down the rest of the collection to make room for stocking up on the Nike GP Turbos when they get released.

6 x New Balance Fresh Foam LAV
3 x Nike Vapor X
3 x Adidas Ubersonic 3 (selling these as I now use vapor x on clay)
4 x Nike Air Max Wildcard (selling these)
6 x Adidas Harden 4 (selling these as I now use Fresh Foam LAV on HC)
6 x Adidas Solecourt Boost (selling these)

Currently just have my LB 1.5 stockpile:

Legend Grey/Black (USO 2017) x2
Team Red (US 2017) x2 (one is almost bare soled)
Black/Green/Blue (USO 2016)
White/Blue Lagoon (2015?) (almost bare soled)

About to recycle the Red and Blue Lagoon. Need to start using the USO 2016 model before any glue starts breaking down, but that is the version with the special fireball decals so could it ever be worth anything?? (prob no). My 2015 Blue lagoons are holding strong so have a few years to run through these, although with C19 playing time has seriously dropped. I have a pair of VC4s in the launch color that I'm dying to try out as well; and the new GPs have potential. Too many shoes, not enough playing time.

Vapor 9.5 x2. Identical pairs as super cheap in nike outlet. £24 a pair. Wear as much for day to day as they are grey/navy so work brilliantly with jeans
Vapor X Kyrie Kyrgios editions x2. White and lava; NYC black, volt and purple on the way. Want the white green and gold which I should have bought at launch. Best shoe I’ve ever played in.
Nike Zoom Zero x 2. One HC, one for grass.

Three pair of GR7s with different colorways. All of them purchased after the seasons ended at greatly reduced pricing...

Currently none, they are all good, but no matches. In the past, I have "bought in bulk" some Nike, Reebok, and Adidas shoes. Hopefully soon, there will be another gotta have shoe for me.

10 x vapor 9 (some customs too)
12 x vapor X
6 x vapor 8
2 x vapor 6
2 x vapor 5
And a pair of lunarlite vapors

That is absolutely the winner of this thread. I only have like 5-6 vapor x’s and 4 cage 3’s. What’s your favorite colorway that you have?

Do you plan to wear all these shoes at some point, or do you just love collecting them?

Could you make a picture of the entire collection of Adidas shoes displayed. Thanks.

Let’s say you played in a pair of shoes that you really like. How many more pairs do you keep ? I have three pairs of adidas bounce and I dunno if I have an addiction or not.
Share a picture if you like

Depends on how much I like the shoe and if they go on-sale. I would normally limit myself to a two year supply. I would likely buy more Kswiss Hypercourt Supremes.

Once they are done on the court they become casual walking shoes, great for dog walks to parks etc.
Currently have 3 pairs of Nike ZZ in the closet, wearing ZZ and SoleCourt Boost for play. I typically rotate between 2 pairs of shoes so they last longer and stay fresh as I hate when they just start stinking ;)

Now that ZZ is gone guess I will need to check out Turbo's. I really like the feel of the SoleCourt Boosts, but appears they are not going to continue them with the Barricade returning. Having a large foot (14) options can get limited.

Wear the SCB and wondered if the ZZ had a softer ride?

Both are great cushioned shoes, but the Adidas Boost always felt more pillow like which some like and some don't. I will also say Adidas Boost seem to maintain that feel for a long time as I had a pair of Boost running shoes and until the end they always had that cushioned pillow like feel.

Agree completely. Have a pr of Pure Boost running shoes, as comfy as new and nearly.............................as comfy as my Oofos slides
