A shortened racket? It's a case for @teachingprotx eheh.I cut it down a little. Makes it easier to swing.

Hard to play these college kids with an oversized stick. CumbersomeA shortened racket? It's a case for @teachingprotx eheh.
Yeah, why one guy who on YouTube Time410 liked the Serina Willam's Willson model of Raquet he, last year cut it down to a 27 inch from a 28 becuse he found the racquet would have the exact specs he wanted in a modern carbon fiber racquet in 95 frame and not have to search out old graphite models and buy a bunch to have enough backups.Hard to play these college kids with an oversized stick. Good luck in using said racquet.Using my ANTELOP TC898 in today's doubles match. (Past performance is no guarantee of future results.)
I played the 1st set with the Antelop, then started the 2nd set with a Prince Twistpower 100 Tour. Played a few games with the Prince and switched back to the Antelop! It held up very well.Good luck in using said racquet.
If I recall correctly, the Antelop TC898 was basically a Pro Kennex Black Ace (100% graphite 85 square inch mid) with different branding. A pretty nice classic!I played the 1st set with the Antelop, then started the 2nd set with a Prince Twistpower 100 Tour. Played a few games with the Prince and switched back to the Antelop! However, the Antelop TC898 when looking at older models on e-Bay looked more like an Identical clone of the ProKennex black Ace as in did not look as good and was crappier in design then a ProKennex Black Ace and if not was good usable reject models from ProKennex. An, other AntelopTC80 model looked like another old Ace model clone or the good usable reject models from ProKennex. If I recall correctly, the Antelop TC898 was basically a Pro Kennex Black Ace (100% graphite 85 square inch mid) with different branding. Is your racquet an old graphite/graphene model? If so, I would look at modern graphite/graphene models in similar specs to a Pro Tour 630 becuse even Head still makes at least a graphene/graphite model for adults 27 inch, I have seen Wilson make some adult models in graphite and like just they do not sell most of them on here like all the Head models and have seen more of these models currently on Amazon. After a 2-year modern racquet journey (Gravity Pro, Black Ace Pro and few other PK sticks, Prince 100P, I went back to my Pro Tour 630...and no regrets. With a gut/poly hybrid, it is just something I cannot stay without when I'm on court.
I have now an I Prestige MP on the way...let's see how it does perform...
I feel you, avid Pro Tour 630 user too. I did try experimenting with Auxetic 2.0 Prestige Pro 16x19. Modded it to 335 grams unstrung. After a 2-year modern racquet journey (Gravity Pro, Black Ace Pro and few other PK sticks, Prince 100P, I went back to my Pro Tour 630...and no regrets. What racquet(s) are a match for the specs of the old Pro Tour 630?Is your racquet an old graphite/graphene model? I do not know, I never played with the model, and given prices of the model in usable shape I never will. What racquet(s) are a match for the specs of the old Pro Tour 630?

From my experience, none of them...just that plush, solid feeling, unbelievable control/precision...i have never found anything close in any modern frame that I have tried. I was full of hope with the gravity Pro, but it is quite distant...What racquet(s) are a match for the specs of the old Pro Tour 630?

I did not get the chance to try that one, I will definitely do so when I get the chance, thanks for the feedbackTry demoing the HEAD Prestige Pro 2023

It’s a really nice frame and is plush and soft like the Pro Tour 630. It’s just a touch lighter than and can be easily matched to the Pro Tour 630
Nice looking racquets. I had one of those many moons ago. They were great hitting racquets.YO TANGO!!!

last week i finally made the leap to poly --> head lynx tour
I play with wood racquets from the 80s, and I do just fine.
Yep. I just played my last 2 Nightowls league (a 4.0-4.5 nighttime league) matches with a Pro Kennex Boron Ace from 1984-86 and won 6/2, 6/2, and 6/2, 6/0 with it.Old thread and what was 20 years old then no longer applies. Still I use many racquets from the 90s and early 2000s. Technology simply hasn't done much at all since then. Racquets were as good as they ever need to be.

He Since changed his name to ZeroLove.Yeah, why one guy who on YouTube Time410 liked the Serina Willam's Willson model of Raquet he, last year cut it down to a 27 inch from a 28 becuse he found the racquet would have the exact specs he wanted in a modern carbon fiber racquet in 95 frame and not have to search out old graphite models and buy a bunch to have enough backups.
Guy on Time410 He now in more recent time has went now for the modern ProKennex models trying some like Black Ace line or a few in the ProKennex Kinetic line and one older early Carbon Fiber model of Kinetic 5G as they have the feel he likes preferring those in Black Ace line currently wanting only 27 inch racquets now as his 27.5--28 inch days of a year ago are over, even using an extender right before finding a Pro Model of the Serenia Willams model was going to be perfect specs if he shortened the racquet.
Only Reason Time410 did not stick with Wilson was he was not able to get more Serina Willams Willson before model was stopped last year and became too hard to find in 2024. So in 2024 he tried the model Babolat which had feel but not enough or wrong kinds of vibrations and not enough vibration in a controlled feel model eve when removing his dampener. Time410's found that ProKennex was one of the few brands where feel was like his older no longer made Willson model with feel but also had a specific sound in sweet spot telling him he had found sweet spot when he gets tired and his feel level is down. He has since found 98--102/103 Square inch working best for him as when he tried in a short his Serina Willams Willson model after trying others at 98 square inches like the Babolat models, he found his SW Willson lacking in size.
All but some cheap stuff in the 1990's--2000's This is especially true of the 25 inch Pro Kennex Jr Power Ace Power Control model I use in mainly the blue & red 4 & 1/4 inch grip made in Taiwan but have the smaller 4 inch grip yellow & black mad in China as my backup when my hands are tired model with the Chinese model in worse paint job becuse the paint job using a durable flat mat enamel for the main colors and a paint for the words, basing off some pro models that were mat sheen in 2003--2004 not an odd max gloss paint job on the older 2001--2002 model where the words are stickers more likely given how much more constant the racquets words are on the racquet and that nobody would be able to tell under the thick gloss. I do have my original got in 2002--2003 winter blue & red of this model now mat becuse I had to use a mat spray gloss (all I had at the time) on the racquet to keep the racquets paint job intact as the sides were just starting to flake off in mid to late 2010's.Better paint jobs on the old gear as well.
i have a LM radical and it’s fun to play with.I used to play with a ti radical for years, but switched to the Gravity Tour which plays like a ti except more plow.
I'd be interested to hear how they compare. I've tried quite a few high percentage fiberglass composite frames now and they all seem to have good feel. The trick seems to be finding a setup that has the right combination of weight, swing weight, and flex to match your style of play the best. The F230 is the best compromise I've found so far with the standard PK Copper Ace right behind it. The F200 is the best for groundstrokes I've ever hit as it's so comfy and laser like in it's control off the ground. It's too much stick for me on serve and also volleys in doubles play. The Copper Ace I could be quite happy with it's just a smidge behind the F230 for me, but I could see where it might be a better fit for some. I loved hitting slices with it for some reason but I'm not sure I could explain why exactly. The really nice thing is being able to play a soft poly in a frame and get something that approaches a multi feel in a modern frame. Absolutely no hint of arm or joint issues.Bumping this thread. Definitely thinking of adding some more old racquets into my rotation. Rossignol F230 seems to be widely available, so maybe those. Can’t imagine anything will beat the feel of my Kneissl White Star Pro Masters, though…
What’s the head size in those Donnays?YO TANGO!!!

What’s the head size in those Donnays?
Thanks!supermidsize --> 95
Same size as the cheap but decent aluminum early 2000's Jr 25 inch Racquet I play with the years models are a 95 when ProKennex made it in Taiwan and between 95 to no more then 96 inch in the Chinese models as the Chinese looks like a Chinese factory just cloned the cheap model and ProKennex just bought the stock after they had the factory do actual Enamel paint/stickers as parts are slightly off buying these models. This was becuse the ProKennex company was switching factories to clones/models not designed by ProKennex on the cheap side before quitting the super cheap/under $50 for the higher cheap end of titanium market around 2007--2009. Both versions are almost the same weight, but the Chinese Clone is a tad worse with a 4 inch grip or adult 0 as I like on the Taiwan model that has a 4 & 1/2 or adult 2 and becuse of this the Chinese model is a ever slightly more head heavy when seeing the newer model balance on the throat when compared to my older models with the original string on the models that were unused/barely used. I have 7 total with 4 in the Taiwan and 3 in the Chinese with Chinese for when I am getting tired with both very lightly customized to my needs in adding a specific thin grip over the old stock base grip and adding a bit of black rubberized paint very carefully on the head of the Taiwan models as the glossy wrap/paint is not as durable as the chinse model.supermidsize --> 95
