Well heres a thread on predicting how many slams current gen players will accumulate to the end of their careers. Here are MY predictions. The first statement next to the players will indicate my prediction, whereas in brackets it is a range of how many.
Roger Federer - 12 Grand Slams(11-16) Unfortunately Sampras will probably not be surpassed as in around 3-4 years there will be a new breed of players that will take him(if not Nadal). He will win wimby a few more times but not CONSECUTIVELY like Sampras's 7.a few more Aus and Us opens will be his too.Is going to be Masters Series King and overtake Agassi's record.I dont think he'll win the french.
Rafael Nadal - 5 Slams (3-7) I think Nadal will have around 3-4 French opens and maybe an Aus or Us open to boot. His career will be plagued simliar to Chang but better. Can imagine him being the being the king of clay for a few years at Least and a Master Series Specialist like Roger. He is in with a chance of coming v.close Agassi's AMS crown.
Andy Roddick - 4 Slams (3-7) Like Nadal,Roddick will have a small grand slam:talent ratio. He is capable of winning Wimby(if Fed falls or isnt ON)and a few Us opens.
lleyton Hewitt - 6 Slams(4-8) His career took a nosedive in 2003,but came back to make 2 finals,in which he was really outplayed by players who nearly unstoppable. He can win 1 more wimby, but his best bets are looking like the Us opens, maybe 1 Aus open.
Marat Safin - 4 Slams (3-7) Unfortunately there are many things that WILL stop Safin from making a Major hall of GS.His injuries such as his knee will take a toll, and he's not a small guy who is light. But he will win another hardcourt GS and Possibly a french if everyone is not firing.Talent wasted.
David NAlbandian 3 Slams(2-5) Not because he Beat Roger in the year end MAsters, but this guy like ROddick and Hewitt are consistent performers at GS,and he is bound to win a GS one day and that will elevate him to more success, however i cant see more than 3 grand slams.
Richard Gasquet - 5 Slams(3-7) to be honest this is the guy who WILL be the leader along with Nadal in the new breed of younger genration players. They will outshine,Monfils,Murray,Andreev,Berdych,Bagjdatis and others who come up.
Juan Carlos Ferrero/Guillermo Coria- 2 Slams each(2-4) These guy are contenders to the French for lets say another 4-5 years and will collect 4 between them.
Note: these are for the top players currently, and others are not included who will win grand slams or a 1 Hit wonder, but these are the only firm predictons as of now.
