to me, there isnt a specific color but it just cant be hideous thats all. look does matter...

i dont believe the ppl that pick the first choice. say u had 3 racquets on your mind u really liked, they all had the same paint job and after hitting with them, they all feels similar, anyone would work. and u pick the "best" one u felt that day and that turn out to be the racquet with no paint job, all metal, no color, black... would u take it or change to one with a paint job? if the playability is hardly noticable?

I don't want my racquet to look hideous either but I have never really seen a hideous racquet.

I wish I could get a ps 85 with the paintjob of an n1 foce.

it used to when i started. not anymore though. judging a racquet by looks is pretty ********. I thought the PD looked good, but it sucked.

i dont care about colours as long as it's not ugly, but it's not like they're gonna purposefully make ugly racquets. . .

black, white, whatever anything but pink.................
Anyone notice that "rainbow" overgrip for sale at your local tennis shop?
UGGGHHH

Well.........as long as your racquet isn't pink as well........it's the new age anyway if you swing that way I guess................

(I'm just fooling around bro) :)

Color is now the last thing that I take care of when I chose a racquet, but if it happens that my favorite racquet have cosmetics that I like, then I'm almost the happiest tennis player in the world.

I like the n6-1 paintjob. Looks better from far away than in close IMO. I'm not gonna buy any racket because of the color, but a really disgusting pj can turn me away (i.e. prince nxg, but i never really liked the specs anyway).

good points, but if u had two very similar racquets, would that 1 sq inch headsize make the difference or the paint job?

i say the look plays about 10-15% on choosing a racquet.

after all, there are only so many different choices, and there are more than 1 racquet thats "perfect" for you. so if it comes down to a few racquets, color would play a role.

All a nice paint job does is makes me want to demo it more and like it, but if I do not like it I wont use it. I really wanted to like the n95 because I love how it looks. I am more picky about beam width, you will never see me with a babolat :p And doony, you say you wont chance your sig until federer losses in a grandslam final :p

Oh yeah? I guess you haven't seen a Wilson Torch then?

Torchs are god ugly, as are PS Surges, nProSurge, and nPS. I like the n6.1 though...and I used to play with the Hammer 6.2, and H6, so black and white is fine with me. Actually, my current racquet, the PS Tour 95, is pretty ugly. Textured paint, a random red strip in the throat, and a yellow loop. Ugh.

Hasn't anyone else heard the adage: "You can't judge a book by its cover"?

Yes, but why would you want to judge a book that has a crappy cover?

Sorry for the double post...

Old thread, I know but I broke a string during an intense match and my friend lent me this sunny colored, yellow stick. Every time I looked down at it when serving it put me in a happy mood. I was serving with a smile on my face because of the this happy, somewhat ridiculous color. Strange but true.
