How much lead do you have to slap on, to make “Your (main) racquet playable”

For example I’ve been a notorious racquet switcher (basically for filling a childhood dream that I didn’t even know existed, from playing with the same racquet and dead poly for years while playing Jr pennants)

I’ve finally gone with the TF40 305 18m (first gen) and the pair that I have defs aren’t matched (Idm tho, I like the slight variance) & they don’t need any lead at all. I play them both stock, and they are beautiful playing frames in just about every department (with an “O” shockie, thin 1.23 aggressively five sided shaped poly they play like a treat)

On the other hand, my Prince Phantom (2020) 100x 18x20 needs a tone for me to make it rock solid stable (on such a thin rounded beam)

It needed:
4 grams @ 3 & 9
2 grams @ 10 & 2
2 grams @ 12
With a static weight of 354g.

It always cut through the air so cleanly, but now with the added weight it just wants to carry its self forward, making my swing feel effortless.

Anyone who uses/used a Gravity Pro and thought that the “teardrop” head shape was too cumbersome and overly weighty...please try a spec’d out 100x 18x20, it plays SO much better for my game, and might for you too.

Perfect as is - no lead required - 12.3 oz , 6 points HL - Head Premier Tour right out of the Austrian Factory.
(Why would one not want a frame where every gram of material was used just as designed by the racquet engineers?)

None. Pure Strike Tour.

Never played a singles match with lead tape on any of my racquets as they were all 12 oz + in stock form. Dunlop Wood, Max200G, Wilson Sting, Babolat Pure Control, Babolat Aero Storm Tour, Babolat Pure Strike Tour G1/3. I’ve experimented with putting lead on other racquets in practice/doubles like the Strike VS Tour G2 and Strike VS G3, but they never made it into my bag as my singles racquet.

I have tried a few rackets that play really well without any customisation: Vcore 98 Tour 2023, Vcore Pro 97D, and the Tecnifibre Tfight ISO 305.

On other rackets like the Head Extreme MP, Ezone 100, Vcore 98 and such I usually put around 4-6 grams of tungsten tape at 12 and they're good to go. More than that and they get a bit sluggish, less than that and I find it hard to be accurate on serves especially when I try to blast the ball.

The only rackets I've added weight at 3/9 to are really light rackets which need it for stability. But I don't really try such rackets any longer.
