How much would you pay?

to hit with one of the 'lower ranked' pros on tour???

Saw a special about the struggles of pros ranked lower than 150th or so. Noah Rubin was the subject of the show (it was on CBS, search on youtube and you'll find it) and they highlighted what his life is like and the various frustrations he has to deal with, the most significant being not making much money overall.

Then I got to wondering, well how much earning potential would these pros have if they did like a residency at local, higher level (posh) tennis clubs on their off season in various cities around the country or even the world. I can imagine they could definitely book in the 6 figures money wise if it was planned out well and certainly if there were sponsors involved.

Especially a player like Noah Rubin, whose name is at least somewhat known!

I mean, I would pay $300 for a 30 minute to an hour long hitting session with him, if not more, that included advice and some conversation. I think it would be an amazing experience. that would be up to about $3000 a day or so, which could easily add up for the few weeks a year they are 'off'. Also these lower ranked players don't play a full schedule because they don't get into all the tournaments. Beats winning only 300 - 800 dollars, if that, per round at a smaller challenger.

I'm sure somebody has thought of this before, so I'm assuming for some valid reason it doesn't work, which is a shame...

Thought you were going to ask how much would I pay for Nadal to lose.

That is a great idea for an app. "Hit with a tennis touring pro"

You specify a location and radius and a period of time, and search for a touring pro who would be available for a hit.

Probably a few hundred bucks for an hour just for the experience. Even watching matches live and up close at challengers it's obvious the journeymen are still excellent ball strikers.

I got to hit with Xavier Maliesse (sp?) when I was in high school. He was randomly dating the sister of the club pro who was coaching my high school team practice in the offseason and was in town to meet her family and ended up coming to our practice. His quality of shot didn't seem like anything special (he was probably hitting at like 20% effort) but he never missed a shot and his movement was insane (it always seemed like he was at the spot of the bounce of my shot before the ball even came off my racquet).

It was cool, but I don't think I would pay for it (any more than we were already all paying for the regular group lesson).

It is not as much as you think. People don't pay that high on a regular basis.

Do you know how much Venus Williams hitting partner and former pro, Eric Hechtman charges ? $85 an hour.

Remember Roman Borvanov , Challenger level player from Moldova . He charges $75 an hour. His highest ranking was 180.
