How muted is the Prince Textreme Tour 100p from 2019?

Hey guys,

I tried the current Prince ATS Textreme Tour 100p some weeks ago and I did not like the very muted and soft feel and cheapish feeling surface when wrapping the throat on my one handed backhand, also the power was a bit much in my opinion but overall playability was good.

I am wondering how the 2019 version (black and some "tech-paint" in the throat) might feel as it should be stiffer and more crispy, also the paint looks better and is gloss which should feel better when touching. There is a used one available in a European second hand marketplace. I am thinking about to buy it for testing.

Could anybody comment on how dampened and muted it feels? I like my 360+ Radical MP for being not to much muted and I dislike anything that is muted on a level like Ezone, Vcore, Speed and Extreme Auxetic, Pure Strike 3rd gen. Gravity Tour Auxetic (1) for example is still feeling OK for me.

So maybe somebody can tell me if it is clean and raw feedback or more muted.

Thanks and kind regards

Julian

2019 is crisper but not a night and day difference. Change was subtly softer. What is your string set up? A firm crisp poly works well with the frames natural plushness.

Somewhere between your Radical and all the other racquets you mentioned. I grew up in the nCode and GT eras and I haven't gotten myself used to much dampening tech, and I think the 2019s work great. I like that it's less harsh than Radicals or Whiteouts while still giving me a fairly crispy playing experience.

This person is right, string setup can make a big feel difference in this frame

Thanks for your feedbacks. I am not sure if I should try it as for my feeling the Whiteout 18x20 for example is even to muted and soft feeling because of the dampening and foam filling. I think it will depend on the price I can negotiate for a used niche racket of a brand being unpopular in Germany for re-selling second hand online. Will be hard to sell for a proper price as there is nearly no interest for Prince rackets in Germany and it's an older model. I will see.

By the way, I like stiff strings and only slightly muted in stiff and clear raw feedback frames like the Solinco Confidential in my PS97 v13 or more direct feeling strings like Sominco Tour Bite in my 360+ Radical MP. I am currently happy with the overall performance if my Kirschbaum Evolution in the Radical. It is quite balanced, cheap and matches the orange frame beautifully will the bright blue. Very colourful but not to freaky combination.

Played them all for the last 8 years or thereabouts. I use Kirschbaums Max Power Rough low-mid 50’s and for me feels crispy when fresh off the stringer. Always fancied trying 4g.
