How people turn pro at the age of 30s and 40s ?

My childhood dream was always becoming a pro tennis player and i know how it felt during studying for university exams rather than playing tennis and working on it. So i wonder few things about it. Do players under 18 make money? How do you turn pro literally ? What are the steps kids follow to become a pro ?
And, how do people in their mid 30s,40s turn in to pros - may not for a career but for the titles itself ?

You need to start at the USTA level playing tournaments. If you can win consistently at the Open level, you can start trying ITF, Futures and qualifying rounds.

When first starting out playing ITF Pro Circuit tournaments it is advised to enter lower level events first (i.e. $10,000 prize money events).

Many players submitting entries for ITF Pro Circuit tournaments already hold a World Ranking and/or a National Ranking so you may well find yourself having to earn places in tournament main draws by coming through qualifying events.

They don't...that's how. To really experience how far off the level of TOP amateurs are to Pro's, enter a few tournaments. then remember that 5.0 player who smoked you with a double bagel in the "open" division....then follow that players results and notice how he or she got double bagelled in a lowest level challenger event by the number 899 ranked Pro.

You don't "turn pro" by your choice as much as by nature and nurture...ie..you have great genetic predisposition to be a top level athlete (superior hand eye coordination, speed, endurance, etc). then you start super early (6-12 years old), then you have the resources to pay for lessons, travel, food, gear, stringing etc.

that is the general feeling everywhere, start early always, not like me who only first touched a racket at 2010 with 17 years old already, hahaha
of course losing is so easy in tennis that everyone expects a defeat, anyone.
