How to get in the zone / flow easily?!

FailBetter

Semi-Pro
Just played a practice match with a friend today. After the match we just played some balls before finishing.

And there it happened again...enter the zone.. we had such a grad really we hit about i dont know.. something between 50-100 times.. and we hit full strokes I mean not just keeping the ball in it was a rally high level.

and during the rally I thought about being in the Zone and that was no problem it was just amazing.. :)

I realized that when I hit some balls after a practice match that happens quite a lot.. Just hitting with a kind of "relaxed focus"

So my Question did you have similar experiences? How is it possible to get in the zone a little bit faster and not only when I was already hitting for about 2 hours?

I experience this daily, and nothing feels better than getting to this state. I like your username FailBetter, are you a Wawrinka fan? I actually find I've been telling myself to "fail better" at things, and I like this approach.

It comes for me with great exhaustion. I just stop thinking about playing a shot and do it. Alternatively it comes with great practice. If I'm in a tournament that spans a few days and I play every day, then on the last day I'll be the most "in the zone" and play shots I could only dream of on the first day.

I know normally when youre thinking about being in the zone you re already off but today it was different.. i was thinking but staying in the zone

Maybe thats the reason why the pros sometimes have problems in the first rounds of a tournament because they also need sometime to get "iN"

Of course, nobody can decide to "get into the zone".
But, you can help it along some, by getting good sleep, have rested muscles and a fresh, eager mind, positive attitude and a good work ethic.

Man I wish I knew how to get into the zone at will, it feels so good. But I certainly know how to get OUT of the zone: any thoughts whatsoever about the mechanical aspects of swinging or movement will return me to a state of non zoneness in an instant.

Got in the zone for a while today while playing. Started hitting unreal shots and sprinted to a 5-0 lead in 20 minutes. Then started thinking too much and nearly lost the match

practice match = zoneable
after practice match hitting = very zoneable

Playing a match that counts = unlikely to zone.

I played a guy in playoffs and when I showed up from my nap, he was in full practice zone. No matter our warm up, he was much more ready to play than I.
