How to improve fit on a half size bigger shoe?

Hi guys,
I received a pair of Nike Lunar Ballistec as a gift. These are about half size bigger than my normal size and I can't return them. I already played in them with no problems, but would love to improve the shoe fit. Is there anything I can do other than wear double sock? Shoes are a bit long for my feet, but not much. Looking forward to hearing creative solutions. Thanks.

I think using a thicker insole (or adding a thin insole on top of the one you have) would raise you foot up a tad, leaving you with less toe room. As long as your heel stays seated, should be o.k.

cut a 3-5mm thick strip of packing foam and put it in the toebox

You can always wear a thick thorlo sock. They recommend sizing a half size up for their socks and that would be cheaper than adding an insole.

They make half insole inserts. They were cork and also a material that is like the lining of a car trunk. I have both that I use. You place the half insert under the regular insert and it keeps your feet from moving around. Check with some shoe stores in your area. They are not expensive and actually work. The cork ones work fine they just break up after a while since you are putting pressure on them constantly. Mine break apart at the top part. The other ones I just bought a while back and so far no issues with them. Probably buy the trunk lining ones again. They seem like they will last a lot longer plus you can probably wash them too. The cork, not so much.
