How to know if APDO is fake?

Hello,

I'm buying an used AeroPro Drive Original (non-cortex) pre-owned and while I was doing a research about the racquet I found out that there are a lot of fake AeroPro Drives.

I've found a several threads and articles explaining the differences and giving tips on how to identify fake APDs, but all of them were targeted at APD GT or APD with cortex version. I've found nothing regarding APDO.

So, I came here to ask: do any of you guys know how to know if it's legit or fake?

One thing I noticed is that is about the handle thickness information. At some racquets it's a little bit far from the weight info, at other it's on top. Does this mean something or it's just a sticker that can be placed random? https://imgur.com/a/75nvw

I dont think there is a fake version of the APDO. there is though two pain job version. one has the yellow a on the throat/handle area while one does not have it. I owned both version of the APDO. I have also saw the fake cortex and gt version.

Pretty well all the fakes were the later models, once the APD became really popular.

If the weight and balance are close to the right specs should be good.

Pop open the little trapdoor in the bottom of the buttcap and take a photo of inside the handle and post it.

He's right. Nails in the handle are the best way of determining whether an original is real or not.

How the handle should look like?

I ordered the racquet already, when it arrives I'll post a picture.

buy it from a known reliable/auth dealer (or trusted seller) source to start.
if the price is cheaper that normal, expect to pay the price by possibly getting a cheap knock off .

Easiest way to pick a fake is;

1. The cosmetics don't line up
Correctly.
2. The grommets and holes are different
3. The design inside the butt cap is different
4. The fakes have terrible weight snd balance combination.

Agree about an authorized dealer. Watch out for the auction site that shall not be named for counterfeits. And as in everything in life...if it seems TOO good to be true it probably IS! Good luck.
