How to turn 360+ Speed MP into Auxetic Speed Pro

My primary racket is an Auxetic Speed Pro. Been using since November and love it. I recently acquired a 360+ Speed MP from a friend for cheap. (I like that racket anyway so it was a no brainer).

Q: What modifications would you make to the Speed MP to make it play as close to the Speed Pro as possible?

As of now - I added 1.4 grams at 12 o’clock (temporary - just stuck blutack) and 5.6g in the butt cap. Made a massive improvement so much so I’m almost indifferent between the two rackets (but not quite). Should I add weight to other parts of the hoop or racket? Pro has no mods other than an Overgrip/Dampener. I’m using VS gut 1.30 and ghostwire 1.27 on it (will likely stick with a gut hybrid but perhaps try different crosses/gauges). I’m a ~6.4 UTR (4.0-4.5ish USTA).

My Pro is 1.5g lighter than the specs below (edit: these are from TW). Not sure about the MP (assume it’s on spec). Note: I’m a bit skeptical of the listed SW for the 360+ MP.

Others may disagree, but I think the biggest difference in rackets is their grip size and shape. That mostly determines the angle of the head when swinging at the ball. 2 would be the weight and balance (basically, the swingweight). Get the grips to feel the same, and the weight and balance the same, and that's as close as you'll probably get.

@SF_45er my guess is your specs were copied from TW specs and if they’re accurate I would be surprised. Also the difference between 16 main and 18 main you can’t change. Waste of time trying to match them up using specs off the TW spec.

If you want to get MP to play more like the Pro, start with using thick gauge strings at higher tension. Then match SW, mass and balance - measure each of racquets you own, don’t go with TW specs.

But you are not likely to get sane feel, and even playability will likely differ - too much of difference in string bed openness and launch angle.

The throat is weaker on the Speed MP than the Pro. Adding weight amplifies it. It would take some weight in the throat and handle as well as some in the hoop to try and get close in stability. The weight would exceed the Speed Pro to achieve this.

I have both. I prefer Pro no matter what you do but your experiment is worth trying because of MP’s 16x19 pattern which could give an interesting spin experience.

I recommend using 1/4 inch 0.5G/inch weight tape. Then distribute: 1g to 10, 1g to 2 and 0.5G both inner sides of the throat.

I would also use overgrip or add some weight to the top end of the handle (wrap some weight tape by the upper grip tape).

I used a similar setup to turn EZONE 98 into somewhat lighter and whippier 98 EZONE Tour like experience and to a very good effect.
