How to Watch the French Open?

The OP is US biased and its really bad this year as ESPN is not subleting coverage from the Tennis Channel. We all need to know how to watch this and it may be possible for ambitous US viewers to spoof a European IP address and get a Euro service (which actually costs a good bit of money). What are the best ways to watch this in HD quality for a reasonable price around the world?

For US viewers, last year I had tennis channel plus (but did not have cable channel, since I don't have cable.) It got me all the coverage I wanted except of course for the NBC stuff on the final weekend. The one huge problem was that the exclusive tennis channel early Men's SF on Friday was not available on Everywhere and I was reduced the lowest quality of feeds. Last year the service was available monthly for a reasonable fee, but now the very limited Tennis Channel Everywhere is only available annually for $89. Good news, Tennis Channel is running a promo code now for 20% off (tia20), so this in only $72 a year for basically the French Open and little else of significance (Topshelf Open ‘s-Hertogenbosch ATP and Mercedes Cup Stuttgart ATP next month.) Tennis channel is under new ownership so perhaps the rest of subription in 2016 might be nicer. The OP will probably cough up for the excellent HD multicourt coverage as the Tennis TV HD coverage of regular events makes the low def feeds a bit disappointing.;)

Iptv is your friend. If you have the required hardware or a compatible android box, you can watch multiple HD feeds from US, Canada, Europe, Asia, UK etc for app. $12/month.

That's what I figured out and what I have. Been enjoying all NBA matches from TNT, ESPN , Sony -India, tsn sports-canada all in HD. Search and act fast. Instead of shelling $88 on the worthless tennis channel subscription, buy a MAG box or avov online and subscribe to a reliable Iptv provider.

Just my 2 cents.

I watch almost everything on TC. And I hate it when ESPN takes over half the coverage because it is one or the other, and then you can't get matches on TC.

I hope that means we are not going to get cheated out of later matches this year on TC...

Get Adblock and just use one of the streaming sites like batmanstram. That's the site I'll probably be using.
Do those sites allow you to catch up on matches that you missed earlier in the day? I'll be at work during RG. :( Last year, I had TC/ESPN for slams and saved to my DVR for watching later, but I don't have that option this year.

Unfortunately it's a live streaming site, so really no replays.

Thanks @Big_Dangerous. :(

If only I could get Eurosport player to work. I have a subscription, but I can't get the necessary Silverlight plugin to work, no matter what I do. It might not help that I have to sneak around the geo block...

Lol I have to get around the filter by using my phone, whenever I place bets at work, so I know the feeling. Fortunately I can stream most stuff like baseball/basketball/hockey games and of course tennis matches!

Haha, I envy how well set up your equipment is, that you can stream all of that to your heart's content! :)

Now you've reminded me of how I miss hockey. I used to love watching, but I never think about it now.

Used to be big into it back in 2001-2003, but then fell out after high school. I usually watch the Stanley Cup playoffs each year, don't pay much attention to the regular season.

Yeah, I used to love watching Stanley Cup, and whenever I happened to find a hockey game on ESPN, I would leave it there and enjoy it, no matter who was playing. Hockey was something I had no access to in Japan (my family lived in a rural area), so when I moved to the US in 1999, I was like  and fell in love for years. Then real life intruded, and I fell out of watching sports in general for a couple of years.:(

I've basically been streaming everything since 2007. I forget to even check TV.

The only thing with Batmanstream is that you don't quite get the HD, and then it's tough to be checking multiple scores, so things like baseball where there might be like 6-10 games going on a the same time make it difficult.

I've ordered a month of Eurosport Player (and can connect in HD through my XB1) and I believe it is also on ITV4 for us Brits. Not sure if there is any way of installing ESP on an Xbox 1 in the US?

I have 4 batmanstreams open at one time sometimes and the atp/wta live scores app. The streams can be bad quality occasionally but usually they're 480p.

batmanstream quality is bad . eurosport player and proxy/vpn should do. no idea if they geoblock so you may get away without a proxy

Yeah, but it's better than nothing, especially when you're at work. The thing is, I'm not against spending money, but I watch more than tennis, so I'd really love a way to watch like all sports like baseball, basketball, hockey, tennis, football, etc.

There's this streaming site, covers with crystal quality several channels WTA & ATP, quick switching at your fingers
haven't detected viruses, but your responsibility

http:slash slash tinyurl dot com slash jvbuqjt

click ok
select tennis in the right column, then click the match to BOLD
click play in the video column
voila

When I buy my own apartment I don't think I will even get a TV, cable is totally a waste of money.
I haven't had cable since 2007, or a phone landline since 2014. It's totally unnecessary, unless you run into an emergency like China invading the US or something, since phone landlines function always for emergencies even if there is no electrical power in the mains line.

Yeah that is easy, but I like video quality. I don't believe Tennis Channel has live replay and pause and advance like Tennis TV. I recall last year that replays were a bit crude or missing, possibly worse than ESPN which is shakey at best.

Try this if you can manage to get a French IP address by proxy:
http://www.francetvsport.fr/roland-garros/direct
Pour des raisons de droits concédés à France Télévisions, cette vidéo n'est pas disponible depuis votre position géographique.

Haha. Yeah, for the right price I can spoof an IP address, but I'd rather support Tennis Channel than go through all that. For about 1 month last summer I had Kodi with IVUE tv program and it was good and you could track down some Euro highdef broadcasts of tennis plus HBO and cinemax in HD!, but the hacker route is for those who love hacking, because its always changing and things are breaking. Better just to pay, but I'm open to cheaper alternatives. Seams like Munich event had some German feeds in HD and sometimes replay (if player was German.;)) We just need a good, nice, safe, loophole like this for FO.

GS semi's and finals I definitely catch on TV though, it's the only time I know for sure it'll actually be on.
You are going to be in a world of hurt if Rafa is in first semi of the French; a tennis channel exclusive, but then you can still watch a garbage feed.

I cough up for Sling Tv at $20 a month for the other three majors on ESPN.

Yeah that would suck, I used to have TTC and always thought it was worth it tbh.

If you can get a UK Proxy get Eurosport player. Live HD coverage of 15 courts at once just £6:99 for 1 month mno min term contract.
That's the ticket. Just have to mess with getting proxy.

Does Eurosport player offer live DVR like features and replays. With Tennis TV I can watch a replay and use there 10 second advance to blow through the down time between points, etc. For some, that's 2 10 second advances between points and a 10 second advance after a service fault. You can watch matches in 1/3rd the time.

I am shocked, shocked to hear people are looking for 'streams':

I am hoping that with the new ownership they have a more coherent offering for the US market. Going from monthly to annual subrscriptions on there somewhat lame tennis channel everywhere was not a good first step for the new ownership. I'm sorry, but I'm not picking up a cable supscription and then paying another $10 per month for specialty sports channels just to get TTC. $600 per year for one channel worth of coverage; dream on.

In US, Republic Wireless for unlimited calling and text and 500mb internet for less than $15 per month with smart phone. Plan wants you use Wifi and works awesome with it and you get better speeds seemlessly.

Fellow cord cutter!

HAHA.

That Republic Wireless plan sounds great. Are they a GSM carrier? What network do they use? And what if you don't have Wifi access?

I'm with Metro PCS (T-Mobile 4G LTE network). My plan is expensive ($60/month), but I have unlimitted everything, including high speed data, so it replaced my Internet connection.

Tethering is limited to 8GB though, which so far has been more than enough.

Eurosport Player does not offer replays. It's only possible to rewind live broadcasts for up to 3 hours.
Eurosport Player streams GS tournaments, except Wimbledon in most countries, and a few ATP & WTA tournaments.

TennisTV, the official live video streaming website for the ATP & WTA, does not stream GS tournaments.

You can easily flick between matches rewind live games and skip bavk to match points break points etc and a few hours maybe 4-5 after they finished at the ao selected matches were replayed on the app and site.

If you're using batman stream etc make sure you use google chrome and ad blocker as it removes the ads that can give viruses.

What I do is I have a betting account with BET365 which streams all matches with a camera on the field. As long as you have at least 25c in your account you'll be able to watch. Unfortunately you have to deposit money when you sign up but you can look into if you want a betting account or not.
